Looking good! Btw. whats the benefit of cutting rear pillar this way versus straight line cut? I chopped mine with one horizontal pass and had no probs that way either. Although few vertical reliefs were necessary. Can't wait to see this finished.
It's just the way I have been reading about, from what I understood, keeping you cuts close to body lines helps with reducing warpage.
Hey Matt, I couldn't send pictures in a PM. But these are the relief cuts you need to do in the rear roof area. If you look close you can see the weld where the cut is.
If you notice the 3-4" horizontal cut on top. When you get the vertical cut tacked up the top corner will seem to have a point or too much crown. Cut the smaller line on top and hammer and dolly it down to get a better crown.
Everything is starting to go back together pretty good so far.... I hope that's not a bad thing later..
I just finished mine over 5 year 9" chop First drive dec 5 2014 need to get registraion Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
That's great, I'm trying to finish mine in the next 5 month's. Hopefully heading to body shop by February.

Its ready for another day of work. Hoping to finish welding the door tops on, and give all the welds a once over with the grinder. Pretty sure I made up my mind on the color, going with a powder blue, white interior, white firewall and white motor. White 40 x 70 ragtop is on its way.
Got the bottom of the floor structure all welded up. Starting to put in very small patches, rolling along. Top has arrived, that's the next big brain scratcher.
Had a tank built at boyd welding. They done a great job. Car is back home now and I will be starting the ragtop this week. Had to do a little work on the side. I.e. brown thing. Running low on funds
