Was it just sitting in the driveway like in the pictures ? If so, it really was just asking to be taken.

Just a thought- any businesses/parks/gas stations/etc. in the area that might have surveillance cameras you could review? Wouldn't be hard to spot that going by. If you knew the approximate time.

No need to get your panties in a bunch. Sometimes, just knowing the circumstances of how stuff went missing, can give others a clue to assist in recovery. Calling someone a "F/tool" may not be the best way to get help. Sorry about your sister, and hope the dragster is recovered soon.

  13. Whats the frame?
    Any numbers?
    N.H.R.A. info Numbers Certs ect...
    Any of these could help.

Sorry if I ruffled your feathers, but I think that was a legitimate question. If it was left unprotected like that it was very tempting to thieves. So, was it stolen from the driveway or not ?

You might put the word out to the vintage drag racing groups also? If someone ever tries to run it through tech, get their license, whatever, those guys might recognize the car based on the roll bar, bodywork , suspension , etc.

Other teams may recognize it too if it shows up somewhere. Maybe you can get a list of email addresses for teams in the classes this car could run in.

    Was the trailer taken too?

  18. Knowing Don,I'm sure he didn't say it to provoke you,he said he was sorry except it and move on.

I would like to know if the car was on the trailer in the driveway or did they break in and steal the car.

Have you filed a police report and checked with local gas stations to see if they might have video of the car on a trailer? HRP

You'll want Don and his contacts here to be on your side.
Misunderstandings happen, lets find it if that is your intention.
There have been a few 'merry paths' that people here have tried to help.
Don asked a valid question, (could it be better said, sure) esp. as he may have helped an older request I'm recalling.

The original post indicated that it was stolen from the driveway. We all know that is not ideal storage, but sometimes that's the only option someone may have.

Yeah, and I apologize too if the question came off wrong. Sometimes the typed word comes off different than face to face. I was just surprised to see it sitting in the open like that.

Hit facebook hard, I understand a lot of people who might not be car types can see things and respond on FB. Hope you find it soon.

I think if someone stole that... They had a plan ,that thing was probably in pieces the next day , talk to all local scrap yards with pics, chances are that's where the chassis may end up, watch craigslist and swaps like Turlock for the big ticket items , they may be dumb enough to try and sell the complete motor , but even if you find an identifying piece you might be able to track it back to the thieves!

Here are a few groups on facebook you should post the pics and info on. " Front Engined Dragsters" "NITRONIC RESEARCH Header Flames" "Nitro Heads" You will have to join the groups to post but it doesn't take long to get on. JC

just had Turlock Swap Meet, was a chance to get the word out more. But, still could possibly ask the Modesto Area A's Model A Ford Club of America to send out a notice to vendors and sellers at swap through their swap meet email list: www.turlockswapmeet.com. if anyone knows of car clubs, race teams, etc with big email lists in the general area of San Joaquin County, Ca could possibly ask them for help too. car may be inside any type of building but, possubly they are using trailer - any identifying signage, etc on trailer to help look for it? checked up down street that it was stolen from for other people that had might have caught something on their security cameras, especially at a stop sign? might change title of thread and include dragster-Northern California, or something like that.

jalopy joker had the right idea about spreading the word at Turlock this weekend. with the crowds at Turlock im sure something would of eventually come up in helping recovery that dragster. everyone in northern calif knows about the going ons in Stockton with thieves, you need all the help you can get. hate to say this but check all the tow yards in that area also. most tow companies are honest people but.......... some guys with tow trucks.........

Pretty balsy move on the thieves behalf. Just trying to think through the steps of casing (probably several drive bys), backing up, centering it, hooking it, You think that would take a few minutes, Then your pulling an open trailer with a Dragster on it, which you think would turn heads any time of day or night, so did they have an enlosed trailer waiting to stuff it into?, or did they not move far?
I'd be worried the blower motor gets yanked, and the rest gets hacked up.

Lots of good advice, like Facebook, CL etc. I wish the best!
