  2. Just last weekend I dug out a green old fashioned bow tie I got at this event! I also have a leather money clip from the Centennial. If I'm not mistaken, the giant Paul Bunyon you posted earlier was put up for this as well.
My Dad (Ken Reynolds) was an architect and designed a dock/seaplane ramp for a guy giving airplane rides during the Centennial (in the Columbia). We took off in a 1947 Republic SeaBee, flying under the Interstate bridge! I remember it distinctly, we overflew our house in Milwaukie! Isn't that the site of the old P.I building?

  7. Pacific City was jammed with dories up into the 70's. The GIANT dune at Cape Kiwanda was also a mecca for dune hill climbing ( all home built cars) in the 60's.Lot's of 50's cars were cut in half, 3 to 4 feet taken out of the chassis, then welded back together! This was after stripping the entire body and interior from the car.My brother and his friend built a 56 Chevy dune buggy, and started on an mid 50's Dodge, complete with Hemi. Roll bars made of water pipe.LOUD as top fuelers!

  14. That's the Bengies Drive-in Theater in Baltimore, MD. It was built in 1955 and has been in continuous operation since 1956. It's purported to have the largest theater screen in the US.
