2 inches tall, 4 and half long and 6 and a half wide (at the mounting tabs)

That's the key reason I bought it was because it could fit anywhere I'm going to mount it in the glove box of my 62 Newport

  5. Getting one off Amazon.
Very cool, thanks for hooking us up with that.

No problem! The first thing I thought when I saw this was it would be a good inexpensive alternative to those high priced hidden stereos and being a poor white boy inexpensive is the way I go!

  7. Not to sound like a MoeRon, but I noticed that you specified that it does FM. Does it do AM too? (That's how traditional "I" am!)
If my pipes are quiet enough this would be pretty cool under the dash of my 39.

You listen to AM ?! (Pokes with stick , like a 6 year-old) That makes 4 people I know. I'm old school , but that's where I draw the line , lol .

  10. It's not the fuzzy static that I enjoy-- but there are still a couple good stations hanging on. Man, I can only guess that it's waaay cheaper to run AM.
I will have to get my George Jones off pandora.

  11. Thanks for the heads up. 15-25 bucks, the plastic adapter box to put a radio in my OT truck was more than that. Man is this country in trouble or what.
Could not be sure in the picture, does it have a mp3 plug or do you use the inputs on the back with an adapter? I see the USB port.

... Or hear good ole George on xm , like I do :) . I'm not real big on am - nothing good around here ... NOTHING. I'd rather listen to my engine , and I have a half-hour to 45 minute commute.

Wow, those things are pretty cool, i could find a few of my cars that these would work well in. Looks like alot of different makes on ebay ranging from 20-30 dollars. I will be watching this thread for sure!

  14. With the socket mod he has done, it will be sheilded when you plug in your antenna lead. The metal case does the rest of the RF sheilding to the board.

  15. I bought that very same radio last year....lotsa features in a very small package.....so the socket mod is a very timely tip..Planning on installing system soon, but don't want a visible antenna(body /frame mount ,etc)
So, whats the best antenna that could be hidden, possibly underdash... also looking for some decent ,small speakers to hide under the dash...any recommendations..

    I have to say WOW...Didn't know these were out there, lots of features, Thanks!! I like the old style (?) knobs at the front, would work great in my OT 72' comet stock location or with a little ingenuity face mount, cause can't reach the glove box in a Shoebox.;) {well its really cause I don't want to deal with Any remotes!}

Somebody mentioned one that already had the proper antenna jack, and without disco lights or whatever. Anyone found one like that and can provide a link?

  22. Here's a couple with conventional antenna jacks, and they even include a swiveling telescoping antenna mast.

I would want AM & FM, I use both! News, weather & sports channels in addition to music channels.

  29. So it plays MP3 files off a thumb drive? This is the most useful tip I've got on the internet in probably a half decade!
