I like the concept and the fit and finish appear to be great, but man... rubber band tires kill me...

    Porsche guys are always smart.

That a nice rod, and a living profe of; wheels make or brake a car! [emoji16]

And that comes from a guy that has a hard time finding nice fordors!

I've seen two I liked, that is HRP, and the one that Edward Lloyd posted. And that looks like a clone of HRP. [emoji39]

I believe it's a general rule, one picture is teasing!!!![emoji36]
Do ask youself, jive bomber, are you a teaser, and will you please find the missing pics for your block. [emoji3]

I was glad to see the Canepa/Moal Fordor at the GNRS. It is truly a superb piece of work. Moal always adds unique touches. The Ed Pink 427 Gurney/Westlake just takes it to another level. It even looks like it can be driven!! TE

  6. Definitely a beautiful looking car.Another black 32 Fordor in this neighborhood is Jon Hall's fenderless mag-wheeled creation with Ardun-Ford power.Jon owns Shadow Rods in Saginaw Michigan and has a number of hot rod projects going on.

I like the wheel tire combination just fine. If one accepts the diameter of the tire as being proportional to the car, then a taller sidewall tire would require a smaller diameter wheel to accommodate it. I submit that would change the appearance a significant amount and quite possibly lose some of the proportion that appeals, to me, at least. Actually, if you think about it, the wheel diameter and sidewall profile are close to stock '32.

Just to be clear, I DO have my own limits on sidewall height, not liking too short sidewalls, and preferring 'fat' tires in many applications. To each his own on that issue.

Overall, a beautiful piece of craftsmanship.

Thank you for the kind words Volvobrynk, the sedan that is posted is beautiful but I agree with the tires are too low profile for the car.

Is there a connection between a gurney eagle, and the Dan Gurney with the racecar/Indy racer frame called eagles?

And thank you for the nice pic, @HRP. What did you run for power in that one?

    Hi Volvobrynk:
After being a race driver Dan Gurney became a race car builder and owner. His cars raced in F1, INDY & LEMANS a**** other venues. His cars were American Eagles. Harry Weslake of England (misspelled earlier) developed many of the engines used in Eagles. TEB

Man, I wouldn't change a thing about this car! It's gotta sports car look, and those wheels are the bees knees.

I'm calling it now... I spot a 3-window Murray body style windshield and header... Looks awesome. You heard it here first... :)
EDIT: Possibly a 33-34 windshield?? Whatever it is, it's subtle and outstanding.

I am with Ryan on this one it is a beautiful car but the tires take away from it for me.

Bruce's cars are always first cl*** and reflect his design talents. Selecting Moal to do the work makes it a top tier piece of art. Combining these two talents the final result will please the designers and builders which is what it should do. Congratulations on a well executed design on a Deuce four-door.
Here is one that is a local car that probably fits more in line with HAMB friendly as the saying goes. Two different styles and end results —both beautiful in my mind.

If bias ply tires are your thing then this one should do the trick.

From this angle you can see the simplicity of the design which is what the builder was after.

The car is definitely beautiful just as it is.
By the way, wheels don't brake a car, brakes brake the car. :p :D

  24. I'll agree that the wheels don't quite fit the build, although for different reasons...

I'll admit that the wheel/tires sizes are skirting the edge of being too 'rubber band-y', but the use of kidney-bean knockoffs is what's jarring for me. Don't get me wrong, on the right car these wheels look great, but for me these should be used on a car that looks more 'racey'... He should swap wheels with the guy who had the Dayton wires on that black '32 roadster that was up for the AMBR. That would improve both cars....

But that's merely my opinion..... LOL

    The brakes stop the car.
When something breaks the look or theme of something it is spelled differently.
A brake is a stopping device for a vehicle.
A break is what you take from a hard day of work, or what happens if you drop a piece of gl*** and it breaks.

English can be confusing at times if it isn't your primary language. :)

Proper English usage can be confusing for a lot of people for whom it is their primary language.
And yes we have a lot of words that are almost spelled alike that sound alike but have totally different meanings. Brake and break are two of those.

Anyhow back to that beautiful black 32 four door with the tires that are to most of us think miss the mark a tad. From looking at the straight on left side shot that Boones took the od of the tires is right on but I'd agree that one inch less on the diameter of wheels might turn a great car into a very close to perfect car in most of our eyes.

"Wheels make or break the car" - The one in the very first photo was broken by tech-no wheels IMO.
The ones on above photos, HRP's wire wheels and Pews bias ply's on steel wheels look right to me.
And I belive they will look as good after another 10 years when the changing mode has swept the tech-no cast wheels away just as quick as they came in...
