    Thanks racer-x
My teenage years I lived right along side hwy 10 in Branch,
Harlin Clark drove through on his way to Wisconsin International raceway.
I remember the blue car on top a Ford cab over 2 ton flatbed truck.
If I ever get all my other projects done, would like to put back as it was on the trailer. wir 70s.jpg

I guess I better dial it back a little more to give you any hint of a chance at outrunning me besides that ford set on kill won't outrun a Chevy on its worst day

Scott I just picked up the turn signal kit to install on the Willys so you can know which way to turn after I leave you in the dust

Well finally got her back together... All leaks stopped & antifreeze topped off... Just have to figure out the gas pedal cable, from pedal to where you connect it at intake! Got battery on charger now, ran it down trying to get it to start... I can't get it to run long enough to get to carbs & idle it up & get er warmed up! LOL...

Thanks Scott yes last year was a bit of a heartbreaker but remember I was finishing putting it together in the pits lol I'm excited to run it this year and all should be good I've pretty well got it lined out now even though I worked like a slave to get a chance to run at the meltdown and only got three passes before I hurt the motor I wouldn't have traded for the world and I really didn't even care that it broke cause there was so much kool stuff goin on Maybe we can pull off a grudge race this year can't wait to see this new bad to the bone 289 run lol

Wrenchbender, you had me laughing with the flathead comment! I'm sure RIC's conjuring up a good comeback?!? LOL...!
I hope the old girl runs better! RIC recommended I change intakes from the Mickey crossram (or clogram as RIC refers to it). To a Weiand tunnel ram. Just need to figure out cable from the bellcrank to gas pedal now! I have the original gas pedal with a ball connector at the end, think I may switch to that?!? Just trying to cokes out all I can with the er/um lil 302...! LOL....

  26. You had me laughing too, but then I wondered, are you gonna put that "water heater" in the back of Mater, and have RacerX push you down the track with his fuel funny car, or are you physically strong enough to pick up that pig iron and literally beat me with it?

  29. Well Wenchrenter, is looks like history is going to repeat itself again.., This little morsel is from the
February 1966 Drag News report from San Fernando Raceway. This D/Dragster was also "water boiler" powered. IMAG1565.jpg

    Kip

Found that C/MP weight breaks were in pounds per cube.

Could you tell me if the car weight was with the driver in car, or just car weight?

    Thanks
