Well, dropping a 401 nailhead in the 37 Nash. Using a 700r4 transmission for the overdrive. The transmission adapter moves the ****** back another 1 1/2" or so, so space is limited for the dipstick tube. A flexible dipstick would be great, but I only see the billet Lokar type style and I want to stay away from that. What are you guys using? Something black would be great. The Lokar "midnight" version is double the money, yikes!
I measured mine. Cut it with a tubing cutter. Stuck the bends and pieces around till they fit. Used heat shrink tubing to hold the pieces together. Cut small hole thru the shrink at the joints and tack welded. Trial fit again. The n removed the heat shrink and Tig weled the joints. Then re measured and cut the dip stick to the correct length.
Same combination in my 40 pickup. I figured with all of the bling no one would notice the flexible dip stick. mounted it as low as possible do the tube didn't show much. I plan on doing something with the handle so it looks older.
