  17. One of the mid-engined floppers that appeared in the early '70s. It was a nice car with lots of magazine coverage. Unfortunately didn't run that well and ended up as a sand racer.

  27. Too lengthy to post here, I'll provide a link to Bill Dunlap's site for a great piece of history on 60's top fuel by Jim Rockstadt. Both guys are RACERS racers, if you don't know who they are, they both are veteran drivers who have done it all for fifty years! This story of the Bev's Steak House AA/FD typifies the 60's! A good read.

Here's Cordy Jensen at the 66 Bakersfield March Meet.I witnessed the total destruction of the car later at Woodburn.Take a few minutes and read, you won't regret it!

  28. SMOKERS! Here's a nice color shot at Woodburn. This was a Woody car, motor by Columbia Racing Engines. As a 14 year old I was IN LOVE with this car! Not a burnout, SMOKIN the M&H's!!!
Now THIS is a DOUBLE A FUEL DRAGSTER!!!

Gary, this is a great story, had no idea that the car crashed that badly, clutch explosions got really bad in those days (remember Jim Nicholl at the nationals)...for some reason I remember a Bev's Steak House car that Fuller build as a "magic-car" with the pointed nose....was that a later car?
