I've heard in 1990 there was a 50th anniversary for the '40 Ford, but I can't find information about it. Does anyone know of an event scheduled this year for the 75th Anniversary for the '40?

  2. Just happened at the GNRS.

\'40 Kool Deadwood Nites 2011.JPG I did see the event at the GNRS, but not until it was too late to get there. I like the idea of showing up at Henry Ford and just wait, Lol. My '40 was at the 50th event under old ownership, with the event located in Southern CA somewhere I believe, but info on that is very scarce too. View attachment 2833479

  10. There is one in Anaheim at La Palma park. the 39th annual 1940 Ford Day. June 28th is the day. Sponsor/Lead club is Forties Limited of Orange County. There should be info on their facebook page https://www.facebook.com/pages/Forties-Limited-of-Orange-County/422460964498813
Not sure if you were looking for something sponsored by Ford corporate or just a good event. Ford is way deep in the Mustang Anniversary and probably never gave the 1940 Ford a second thought. We're a drop in the bucket compared to the Mustang market, unfortunately.

Thanks, yes looking for whatever might be out there. I'm chasing info from the 50th too, hope to find out who sponsored that event. I saw a picture/poster of the event once, and am working on researching more. Surely some of us know someone that was there.

Art Branum was the organizer for the 40 is 50 tour that took place in California and ended up at LaPalma Park in Anaheim. He had shirts, hats, pins, photos of the tour group and a host of other memorabilia for sale. I have most items. I was involved in the selection of this year's 40 is 75 event at the GNRS. Thanks to John Buck we had 40 1940 Fords from all over the US that were invited. Roy Brizio also selected some entires as did Lee Pratt. We were each presented with a metal sign, hat, and T-shirt by Monnich Embroidery and Dave High Ink. I think this years Forty Ford Day at LaPalma Park will be a great event also. The event is June 21, 2015 the week following the LARS. Come and stay for another week.

We had 40 1940 Fords at the GNRS for the 40 is 75 display. Great turnout from all across the country. Ford was not a sponsor. Rod Shows provided the space and signs.

Forty is Fifty was actually produced by 3 guys, Art Branum, Vern Willams, and Dick Santana. It was a week long tour starting in Reno, with stops in Sacramento, Monterey, San Luis Obispo, Long Beach, and ending up at Forty Ford Day in Anaheim, A tradional event hosted by Forties Limited of Orange County. There were approxiately 200 '40's on the tour.
Forties Limited will also host Forty Ford Day this year, and are planning speial activities to celebrate "40 is 75".

Anything happening in the Southeast along these lines?
I just bought a nice '40 and I'd like to attend if there's anything of that nature nearby.
Waiting for some decent driving weather to bring it home from Ohio.

There's lots of '40's turning 75 this year, not just Fords! ;) Coupe.jpg

  21. Having owned several 40 Fords in the past I wouldn't mind seeing a huge dedicated thread to the just the 40 Fords.

This beauty belonged to my late friend Deuce Roadster. HRP

My older brother's Tudor has had it's 40th, 50th and now 75th birthday during his ownership.......and he's never driven it yet! At the rate its going, I doubt he'll get it on the road before it turns 100.

Regarding Forty Ford Day ... Several of the original Forties Limited club members have passed on (like Vern), but the event at La Palma Park in Anaheim is still an outstanding event. Parking on the lawn of a well-maintained city park, decent chow, GREAT people, some nice shade trees, very well organized, and a nice small awards ceremony. If you've never attended, you should consider it ... :)

I have heard that GoodGuys is having a special parking area similar to DeuceDoins at their shows, but nothing official.
