    Hi Dan:
Thanks for the great pictures. Enjoying your perspective on the cars. The fellow posing with the great 59 cut quite a note. Is from Italy? TEB

Thanks a lot Krol, mammyjammer ( I often want to throw my cameras away too after seeing my threads),xhotrodder (someontold me the headlights are those little oval things (HID lights) underneath where the real lights used to be, joeycarpunk, Johnee D. ( we are having one of our 70 degree days, in between snowstorms) and tevintage. (the guy is from Italy and did not speak English. He is part owner or something - the Caddy is another John D'Agostino car)

Thanks for your great photo's, especially this one. Not being able to attend in person, I would have missed this completely, as I haven't seen any other photo's of it. I applaud and encourage thinking outside the box,...but sometimes perhaps,.some things are better left IN the box.

You're welcome Rustomiser and thanks. Everyone has different tastes and there have been a lot of customs throughout history that were way "outside the box" and this one is another. The whole point of customizing is to create something different.

  15. The colors on that '58 Pontiac blow me away. I'm pretty sure that's my favorite car of the whole show...and it's evident there were lots of great ones.

    Hi Dan:
I guess you thought the 40! Mercury was a beauty also. The owner builder was with the car often over the weekend with his family and friends. He was the most cheery gracious fellow who had just finished the beauty the night before having to bring it to the show. He was rightfully proud of his work. His chief business is as an upholsterer. The interior was equally nice. It was nice to see the owner having such a good time. Another was Wes Rydell last year's AMBR winner. He was around his car all weekend and is a great ambassador for the hobby. Humble, good natured and always willing to speak with the spectators. TEB

Thanks Mick (straykatkustoms), TEB and kiwigasser! And thanks for the additional info on the Merc, etc. I shot my pictures during the 1 hour media pass periods so I never met him. It is definitely a sweet car and one I wish I had the chance to take really good pictures of (ie outside the show posed somewhere nice).

Thanks for the postings! It's nice to see photography done correctly - rather than just us point and click hacks. Thanks again.

Thanks for the pics Dan, great photography and a treat for those of us who couldn't be there in person.
    I loved these cars, wasn't a one I didn't like. Cool.

Thanks a bunch for all the positive words bonesy, Martin and lucky ink. There is a lot to be said for all the "point and click hacks" too. They give us all a lot more complete view of all that was really there. There are so many cars that are incredible but positioned badly with so much clutter or with their hoods and doors open that I just skip because it would be a very mediocre picture of a great car. Even though I have violated that rule a few times in this thread, I usually try not to, even though it kills me to skip some gorgeous creations.

This 52 Chevy was especially wild and different.
