To be true to the gasser deal, it has too much padding plus no head rest and too hi end looking

Most of us dudes did not have much money, so what we had was spent of making it go fast and not a trick interior

My seat covering was glued right to the glass bucket, to keep the weight down and easy to maintain

Since these cars were meant not to be set in very long at one time, don't need no padding

I plan on using a pair of buckets from a mid 60's van. I have seen pics of some cars with them. Solid backs bolted in place.

Bostrom seats made the seats that the Thunderbolts and A100 vans had...they also were used in Jeep CJ5's until 1971...you can get repop Jeep seats just like them on Ebay cheap.

They are light...not as light as a glass seat, but way nicer to set in.

I used a Crosley radiator since it was the smallest & lightest I could find, along with a 20 gal water tank in the trunk and it worked just fine

Used a water puppy 12v pump to move the water then when it was getting too hot, just hit the on switch and it would cool it right down

Steve, Dragsters had them as early as 1959, They could have been around earlier than that but I don't have any proof.

    Steve,
This car had disc brakes, front and rear in 1964. Fronts because they were lighter, rears because they stopped the car much better than drums.

    Holy Crap.

I've got about a hundred photos of that one too.:)

How did you end up with that one? Were you actively searching for it,or did it find you?:)

So glad to see historic cars like yours still in circulation.

Too bad Don's old car is stuffed in a collection someplace and will probably never see a track or vintage event again.

Add a chrome straight axle a bit higher than stock shown. The motor is a 413 MOPAR. It will be the street motor while a stroked 400+ early '60's Poncho motor is being built for strip duty. Chromed '57 Poncho-Olds rear. The Poncho theme continues w/a soft factory Aquamarine metallic shiny paint.

He said stroked.Start with a 389,add and offset grind and bore it,and you're up over 400 inches.

    Just to be a butt. He said a "stroked 400". Start with a 389 and it's a "stroked 389". :D

Just to be an even bigger one.....it would have been light blue, not the 400 silver blue.
