  3. All I can add after that last observation is........ thank goodness we don't cover our cars with that sort of paint jobs now and there appears absolutely no likelihood of it ever taking off again in my life time.
I'm looking forward to winning our Lotto first prize so that I can get my House of Kolor Metallic Tangerine paint with the deep purple lace panels edged with white pinstriping done on my car. Trim will be a off white leather tuck'n'roll with a matching working roof. All I need now is to break my no gambling policy and purchase the winning ticket.

So, I guess that must be why I haven't won the lottery yet? You have to actually buy tickets? :(:oops:o_O

Radiator shell needs to come down, and I would swap out the mono spring in front. I'll let someone else take it from here.

  14. I would lose the headers for a better shaped set and first even before the headers would be the front wheels exchanged for narrow rims without the wide radial tyres.

Drop frontaxle 4 inch and mount the spring to stockstyle perches(spelling?) to get the axle closer to radiator.
I know i have to relocate the mounts for the bones in the frame but i don like the axle to far out in the front.
And then replace the grilleshell to a model T.

Does that rear look very narrow? Propane tank isn't doing anything good for this car.
It's nice to see a bucket, where the mill is lower them the cowl.
    Grill is too high.

Rest is just minor miss matching of parts. And it looks weird with that gap between the seat and the back of the body.

But it got good bones too make a fine rod from!

You know guys I'm tired of playing this game. From now on I'm not doing it unless asked, and by posting pictures of your own bucket on this thread consider that asking. Tim and others have done that and have taken the advice in good humor and I'll bet if you ask him and others they will say their rods are better for it.
The problem with picking apart others cars is most of them don't give a*****. If they did they would have done some homework and at least read some old magazines. I do hope though somebody buys the above rod and do what it takes to make it visually better.
There I got it out and I do feel better.

I really like that bucket and as said it has good bones. Its well built with only some minor changes to make it stunning. Remembering that NZ (in general) doesn't really know (but its starting to change) much about the traditional side of US Hot Rodding. JW

  23. The windshield is either too high or slanted back to far. It looks funny. Also, the entire car is in primers and flats, but the engine is shiny, doesn't go well together. Definitely agree on the wheels and tires, too close to the same size front and rear. Also, don't like the seat, mostly because it looks like a mini van third row seat to me. The car is almost completely devoid of chrome, but that in itself isn't bad or wrong, it just needs a contrasting color in there somewhere. The headers are not bad, but they need something. They would look better chromed, and I don't particularly like the neck down between the header and the muffler, but they don't make or break the car. I like the grill shell, but it does need to come down a little, and when it does, the headlights will be too high and have to come down as well. Now, having said ALL that, it probably sounds like I don't like the car, but actually, the opposite is true. It appears to me to be a car someone has****embled on a limited budget, and has foregone some of the niceties to get it on the road, and I commend them for that! All it really needs is some time and an appreciative new owner.

    I like it!
Klit Eastwood. I wouldn't change a thing. And for everybody that thinks all hot rods were finished like in the magazines take a look. I'll bet more were like this. He must have had a ball in it. How kool can one young guy be?
Actually this is what I had in mind when I started my roadster. Then one thing led to another, I started making some more $ and my avatar is what I ended up with.
Somebody should klone this. Franko are you listening?

  26. You know guys, that T that Jeremy posted a photo of isn't that far away from what Chip started with way back on page one of this thread. It is what this thread is all about really, How to Take the Ugly out of a T Roadster. I did a quick search but couldn't find it on our main selling site so don't know how much money is being asked for it but, not that I need another T, I would of jumped at buying that car if I hadn't purchased mine. I'm only sorry I didn't own a camera to take photo's of the T I purchased and all the work that went into producing what I have now, and it isn't finished by a long shot.
Have to agree with Jeremy too on the " Traditional " style builds here in NZ especially T Roadsters as we tend to make do with a lot of stuff to build a car that we can find local and with most of our old fleet being Australian and English, it meant we couldn't really fix onto a set date type deal. It has only been the last 10 to 15 years that we have build more to a dated era on some of our builds and concentrated on keeping the project correct to that chosen era. My personal T Roadster is one that when I asked Rocket Speed Equipment to finish it to driveable stage I stipulated mid 60's style finish which apart from a very few nasty's that I need to change, I have accomplished that desire.
If you wish one can goggle www.rocketspeedequipment.co.nz and have a look at their site and past projects etc.. Geoff Klines little '27 T Roadster is an very interesting build and the first car out of their door so to speak.

The bucket listed on Trade Me is an unfinished project. It still needs to have final certification done, having had a certifier look at it twice. But as has already been said… good bones to work with, and at $10,000 buy now, not a bad price too.

I would buy it if I had a spare $10,000 lying around. Here's what I would do to finish it off…

I would be aiming for a look that is a cross between the Isky and Mack T's.

Get rid of the roll bar and tank to replace with turtle deck.
Replace wheels with 17" wires with 650 rear and 500 front tyres.
Re-do the rear end so that it's a bit further back.
Replace the headers with an exhaust system that exits out the back.
Raise the body so it sits on the chassis.
Full bonnet(hood) and track style nose.
Chop the screen a few inches.
    Belly pan.
    Paint it black.

I dunno, different countries, different hemispheres, different design criteria, I see a lot of interesting and intriguing ideas in their photos as I do in the North American builds., If we have to follow some ones precise rules and copy what someone else built, what's next? A Prius in every garage?
