image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg Chopped, frenched, decked, shaved, body and paint done, fresh 42 248 straight 8 installed, 12v conversion completed, gauges refreshed, new wiring almost complete, tilt front hood fabrication done, still a bit more to do before it is on the road.

Looks really well done. I love the chromed-up, twin carb, dual pipe straight 8!
The air cleaner is a jewel.
Is there hidden provision for a rear tag?

Thanks for the positive comments. No rear tag idea yet any suggestion?

A plate sunken in the rolled pan (NOT the decklid) might work well with your overall vision.

Or this look, using Corvette bumperette's, may also be an option.

One trick from the late '40's was to build sort of a boxed enclosure, with rounded corners. Mount a glass cover from inside over the box opening, and mount the tag from inside ( like through the trunk ). Mount this below the trunk lid in the rear pan, add a light on top of the plate up out of sight and you're done. Seen this also w/ a thin chrome or stainless band around the edge of the opening. K6
