Hot Rods Let's have our own 84th anniversary event for the 40 ford...

  1. Here you go. This is the last one I'll post of Jerry's 40 as I don't think this is the kind of builds that Mark is looking for. :)

Yeah. Awesome pass on Moreland'40 sedan video.
I could watch over & over.
No matter what's underneath, it looks like RealSteel bad ass from the outside...almost cartoonish in the still photo "1-wheel stand".
Is that drag car still together & draggin the strip?
Was it real steel body? What years was it draggin?
Maybe it has*(*deserves) it's own complete thread, even if a little "OT"

This week, I was asked to have my '40 Ford stake truck to be part of the Junior Johnson's Midnight Moon display at the KOZL Man Show Expo. It may have never hauled shine, nor the supplies to make the shine, it's sure to be a pretty cool display. Thanks @Long Roof Larry, I am greatly honored to have the '40 Ford stake truck in the display.

That's Mike Denney's 40. Motor was built out here in Calif. by Vern Tardel, originally built by Moon Equipment (not Mooneyes) and put in storeage for decades. I found the motor, Vern went through it, and I sold it to Mike. Mike is currently president of Early Ford V8 Club, Tulsa chapter, and a lifetime member of Forties Limited of Orange County. His car collection hovers around about a dozen cars.

    Hi Okiedokie:
That green Sedan Delivery was built by Roy Brizio's shop. It is outstanding. You can find more pics of it on his website. TEB

Having loved 40 Fords all my life, I have pictures of many, some I've taken, some off the internet, unfortunately I do not know anything more than here's a picture, here a couple of my favorites. 503[1].jpg DSCF0796.JPG

Oh man, I usually don't like chopped '40s but that truck really catches my eye, sort of a Ute conversion. That is nice!

  23. Turns out it's an original 40 color called Garnet maroon. I think it may be Tom's "tweaking" of the photo that makes it stand out. ;)

  24. Here's another example of Tom Davison's photo "tweaking" skills. He took this shot of my car at the LA Roadster show last June. The paint looks nowhere near this good in person! The old laquer has seen better days. :)

wow great shot Ol55! My lacquer was really bad but at 20 feet it was great. Sadly the east coast weather and living on a tidal river caused the crazing to become flaking. Hence shiny new black going on the car this month after a complete strip and bead blast.

Loafing's coupe is one of two chopped 40 's I've ever seen that looks right, the other done by Hollywood Hot Rods. Cool car.
