Cool pic, and cool cars, but no way is this 1966. Not sure who added that on the bottom right hand corner. BTW Gary, and TommyD and Ardun296 and everyone else who adds to this post, I say THANK YOU!!!!

    I don't understand, why can't it be 1966? Isn't that a 65 Plymouth?

  5. Look at the back ground, that awning. It's a contemporary "nostalgia" thing.
    He's right, it's not 1966. Things weren't quite so...fancy then!

This is not an opinion but, a fact. These are the 2 best looking dragsters ever. [emoji41]

I would argue that Wenderski's Black Beauty rivaled those two for the most beautiful ever.

"Richie Broughton at Connecticut Dragway, cage with Richie still in it at left, notice engine with fuel lines still trailing fuel by the pole...Richie was barely scratched in this crash and asked what he had turned"

Couple of corrections to the above ~ The accident occurred at New England Dragway, not Connecticut. Richie did suffer multiple injuries in the crash and was transported to Exeter Hospital before returning to New York. He did not lose consciousness during the crash, but could not release his harness as his right arm was broken and his index finger on his left hand had been nearly lost. He also suffered broken ribs in the crash. Richie finished out the 1971 season with a loaned car and driven by Elwood Banker. Attached is a picture of Richie (r) and myself with the recreated "Comanche" destroyed in the accident.
