This car never made the 'big-time' but was local car that defined 'Gasser' in 1962 - plus I went to high school with Frank Jr. and drove the push car at Atco one Sunday!!! :)

This was Jack's 1st A/GS Willys. It ran a small block Chevy of the 388" variety. It was a steel body and wound up on the west coast as a S/G car owned by Bob Grimm. He built the all glass BB powered lime gold car after this one. Interesting to see how the technology changed in just a year or two.

Well I love a Willys, plus I'm a die hard Ford man.... so I'd have to say The MoonLighter...

I know I voted for "the moonlighter", mostly because I liked the build thread, and the awesome videos in it.
But that green 55 with the wakkie pakkie name was nice.
    But so was this!

They are on my top eleven.

I like the little purple topolini that showet up a "help ID this thread", beautiful and with a double name.
The dare to be different IH scout gasser.
And there should be at least one Henry J on my list, but it's hard to find one that's better looking then the others.

I think that you might be talking about the Davis and Ingram Fiat Topolino out of San Jose California. I believe that this car was an altered not a gasser, but a great looking car. downloadfile-109.jpeg

  10. Charlie Hills FILTHY 40, driven by Pork Zartman, was known for lifting the front wheels in all four gears. WHAT A BEAST! Charlie gave strict orders, that the car never be washed!

    My brother and
I got one of these each for Christmas one year. I've been looking for them at swap meets but no luck. That was back in the late 60's before I went on vacation in south east asia a country named Vietnam.

  16. This version NHRA was OK with... It was the twin-turbo Boss '9 one that was so much faster than everyone else that NHRA put it into a 'special' class by itself...

And some are confused at what a gasser is; if it doesn't have fenders and doors, it's not a gasser!

This one is on the Model A gasser thread, plus someone else was wondering about it's history on a thread dedicated to it..
I really like it, if anyone knows about it - feel free to post.

I think the mooneyham/Sharp 554 car ran in the F/C (fuel coupe) class not a gasser. o_O

Red was the most common color. There was also Blue, Yellow, and Black. Some had the driver and some didn't. Also, some were gas powered, some were battery powered and some were wind up.

Yes, You may. I been thinking about it. I really liked the story, the build thread and how he build it.

But I don't like the paint job. No disrespect to @swade41 gasser. It's me who has an issue. Sorry

But damn that is one hot Gasser!

I appreciate seeing Firesuit Phil's Ford.

Phil was a cantankerous old guy. Most was an act, but some was his nature. But once you got to know him, he was a fun guy and a real character. I pitted next to him quite a few times and always enjoyed his company

Could be. I'll have to watch my old Gasser File tape again. I know the car Ronny Nunes had before it (grey ghost car) got wadded up.
