Somewhere on here, I think a rustoleum thread lol, a guy painted his maroon which was like 50% red rustoleum & 50% black mixed. It turned out excellent and the color was great. It was a pretty long thread, I'll see if I can find it.
Butch, I hope you can find the thread, please post the link if you do. That sounds like it would look great. I painted the inlays of a 31 model a grill shell like that. I love the look....kinda makes me want to paint the entire car that way. A deep maroon....but kinda a black and deep red/maroon mix.
Found it!!! It's a thread started by Mr.Cool and it's called.... "Rustoleum paint job follow up..." I found it by searching google and can't post a link from my phone, I'm currently on a service call. Just google it, it will bring you to the HAMB. It's a beautiful color.
Maroon is good. I've thought about it for my 39 and I think my Buick is borderline between maroon and burgundy.
I call it 'Ultra Maroon' It doesn't really have a name- just a number It's a PPG fleet color-single stage urethane
Had the paint store match this, I asked him the name of the color and he said the chart just called it Maroon . so here it is.
I am thinking about maroon too. But a paint code or name would really help when you post your pics. Thanks.
This was my everyday driver for quite awhile. I remember the first time I picked up my better half she thought I had hired a limousine to impress her. I told her it was either that or my work ute (mini pick up truck)
