  1. Wouldn't be legal here either, but would still be priceless to park it at Google or Apple with no hood..:D :D
(Maybe you could pull it off if you stuck a prius body on an old Ford chassis and registered it as a Ford). Doubt it though, the DMV here has NO sense of humor.

Lady saw my Nash and said, "My brother in law has a '57 Chevy convertible, wanna see it?" I said "sure". She finds the pic in her phone and shows me a 1971 Monte Carlo with a vinyl top! I said "nice '57" and walked away. It just not worth the time explaining it to them...

I overheard a guy tell his kid that my flathead was a nailhead. He was pointing to the head bolts and said that's why they call it a nailhead. Precious. I just kept my mouth shut.

  4. LOL that reminds me of when I was little, we were at a show at the Cow Palace. A friend of my dad's conned me into asking this guy about the hemi in his roadster. So he told me all about his hemi. I came back and said I thought that it was a flathead and was a confused little kid. my dad said that it was a flathead and that was why you didn't pay someone to build a car for you.

I have a '35 Ford four door that has the front fenders and grill from a '35 Studebaker. Why is another story that doesn't fit in with this thread.

An older gentleman came by the house one day and commented on my '35 Studebaker (he could only see the front of it). I was stunned since no one recognizes a '35 Studebaker. When I pointed that out he told me that his dad owned one and that he had spent many hours in it as a kid.

You just never know; sometimes people actually know what they are talking about.

  6. I don't know if this counts.....I watch TV shows about cars when they come out to see if there's any reason to watch regularly (but there's usually no reason). They pretty much all SUCK!! So, on this show a guy (Carinni?) buys an early 50's Chevy truck at auction. Pulling out of the building it's got a trail of gas around 10 inches wide and around 40 feet long. Long story short, they said it was a stuck choke. R U fucking kidding me? That was the 1st/last time for that show for me

A lot of times I don't sit by my car at shows spending most of my time roaming around with buddies looking at other cars, but occasionally from a distance I'll see someone pointing at something on my car and discussing it with a friend and always wondered what they were saying. I found a digital recorder on amazon that is the size of a flash drive and for a couple of shows I attached it to the inside of my grill shell and recorded everything said around my car for the several hours I was at the show. When I got some off time at home I plugged it into my computer and listened to the comments. Very funny sometimes.

Not looking to spoil anyone's day, but that's a violation of illegal wiretapping laws in some states (Pa included). Beware, be safe out there.

Why? Because I'm a Pennsylvania lawyer who had a client who was criminally prosecuted for recording a meeting. I care about my HAMB brothers/sisters and although my comment is not funny in a funny thread, I wouldn't want anybody to get the bright idea to do the same thing. OK WITH YOU SMARTYPANTS?

Geeze what can you do anymore that isn't a crime. Only did it a couple of times cause most of the time everything was drowned out by the music the DJ was playing. But like they say don't try this at home or anywhere else for that matter:eek:

  18. LOL and I used to like you. Hey do you do pro bono work for aging rodders, just in case I get into trouble in your state? ;)

In Missouri the law reads that only one party needs to know that a conversation is being taped. So it would be perfectly legal in this state. :D

Hell you can't even moon anyone any more without out being sexual assault, or in my case sexual insult. I did find out something a while back when they were getting all over that southern cook lady for calling an employee a racial slur. Statute of limitations for being a child molester in most states averages about 14 years, but the statute of limitations for calling someone a bad name is forever.

So if I rap a mongol or an outlaw with an 8 ball and get charged with felonious assault or whatever the new millennium name for that is I can call? :D

  19. probably illegal cuz a bunch of politicians got caught taking money for favors so they made it illegal so they could get away with it again. LOL

Probably illegal so people can't secretly record you without a court order and then use it against you.

Guess I better remove the recorder from our bedroom.....wife finds that and I'm dead!

  24. But I would be innocent if you represented me, even if we lost. There are no guilty people I prison everyone knows that. :D

Tell you a story along those lines someday when we are not offending anyone.

So goofy things heard from other people.

Once I was in the process of chasing a transmission for a project I was working for a guy I worked with. he wanted a 5 speed and the S-10 was a viable prospect for transmission. I worked with a guy that totaled his struck and asked him about the transmission, he said, "what do you want it *fer" so I told him that it was going into an old ford with a flathead and he said, "Nope won't work, that transmission can't work with no flathead." So I had to know why and he said, " Cause that transmeession is geared inta thet thang." To this day I have no idea what that means.o_O:confused::D

*autocorrect is kickin' my ass here fellas someone tell me how to turn it off. puleeeze.

Take your girlfriend to a motel, problem solved. :D

I just gotta ask---- What exactly would you do with such a recording? A video, I guess you could make some money or something, but AUDIO? ROFLMAO

  27. Neither does kicking it, it can actually be more expensive than rapping someone with an 8 ball.

But I did have an old ford once that took a good cussin real well. I had 4 fords custom all. :D

Hey now don't knock it before you try it there is a niche for every deviate.

Usually I get the last word with somebody making a comment about the '40, but at one impromptu show a kid about 10-12 asked "how old is your old car?" I said "it's older than I am"--(it is), and he said "Oh, God". I was at a loss for words. I had it coming.
