these are exceptionally gorgeous and very art-deco. Basically unobtainable. But there may be a chance...unrestored with only 16,xxx original miles and in fantastic condition. I would like to hear your estimate of value
This 34 Aerodynamic came up for for auction last year and a barn find. Guestimate 'As Is' price was $AUD25K-$AUD35K. Definitely unique and art deco IMHO. Being unobtainable the market would dictate. The last Hupmobile Aerodynamic was built in 1937 with the last Hupmobile leaving the line in 1941. http://www.conceptcarz.com/vehicle/z16286/Hupmobile-618-G.aspx '...cars built and sold in 1937 were 618-G and 621-N models using 1936 parts, making any 1937 Hupmobile relatively rare....' This '35 Aero sold for $69,300, https://www.dragoneclassic.com/Auctions/fall-auction-2014/1935-hupmobile-j-521-aerodynamic-coupe/
A dollar unfortunately I only got 75 cents. Damn the luck. I think even rough they should bring a pretty penny, maybe not as much as say a Bugatti or an Espanola but should be worth nearly as much as a deuce coupe to the right person.
My neighbor lady got drunk when I was in high school and I said that about her, my granddad just smiles and said no she doesn't. I think skirts depend on the build, if its a nose down hot rod it would look pretty lame with skirts but if it is a tail dragging custom I would have to agree.
Sorry, I always see custom....It would be a cool gasser as well, But rhe rear of that body has beautiful lines....I just see taildragger....
I had one back in the 50s . Sorry I didn't take more & better pics of it. I drove it while doing the 50 chev vert. Gas mileage sucked even with freewheeling,it had teak garish, windshield was a 3 piece deal ,rumble was cantilevered & to open you pulled a leather strap behind the driver seat. That thing was heavy around 4200 as I recall & the metal was really thick. Built like a tank. That is one I wish I had kept. Think I paid $100.00 or less from a car lot. It was called an aero coupe. Designed by Raymond Loewy.
I am hoping we can get well thought out opinions as to the value of the car in the photo. There will be a revelation at the end of the weekend.
Cyclone Kevin has one ( or two ) of this coupe from '36, he would be a good one to ask about the value on these. K6

confession: the deal has already been completed. Soon the car will reside in a nice collection near Madison, WI. take a guess at the selling price!
$87,500............. carefully calculated by the time honored SWAG method (Scientific Wild Ass Guess). Ray
Well lets see if past sells tell us anything Bat Mobile $4 million The General Lee $100,000 Monster Garage 1954 $30,000 A Humpmobile should be worth at lest 3 arms and 1 leg I'm still pretty upset about the General Lee and MG 1954. Godspeed MrC.
Ray, your last two guesses were both close and reasonable. If you average the two, you will basically be right on the money. $110,000 plus taxes and fees. strong money, but find another one like it and in such wonderful survivor condition. I am proud to have been part of the deal. Thanks to fellow Hamber GZ for persisting to pry one loose. I cannot wait to see this car parading on the show grounds
