1963 1/2 Galaxie Fastback

 

The Mustang was only referred to as a '64 1/2' model by Ford in the early pre-production promotions. Once it was out, it was referred to as a '65. The '1/2' business came into use to differentiate the production/mechanical differences between the ones built during the 'regular' '64 production year and the '65 year. All were serialed as '65 models.
