Hot Rods SBC's that are anything but orange.

Let's see some pics of SBC's that were painted colors other than orange.

The 350 in the wildcat I sold a couple of weeks ago was light blue... just for the reason I still had a quart of light blue paint left...

 

327 SBC block (including oil pan) is painted red to match the finned valve cover recesses. Olds/Caddy air cleaner is painted dove grey to match body. Red striping on air cleaner is same color red as on firewall and car body striping. Rams horn exhaust manifolds are finished with Eastwood's grey manifold paint. Intake manifold and Muncie 4-speed tranny are natural aluminum finish.

Weren't the 1st SBC's painted red from the factory??
Instead of Chevy orange.

My 66 c10 had a high torque 327, which came Detroit diesel green. The high torque 283 came painted grey.

 

My Ford Blue 350.

My 283 was orange for 20 years. I moved it to another project car and painted it international harvestor red for a change.

Where was this thread this morning when I was hosing my mouse motor with a coat of semi gloss black! So many great options, I love the red with the matching red on the finned valve cover recesses.

Tried burnt copper bc the car will be a bronze metallic in the end......looked horrible.....went back to black.
