In the days before the water box, a low-horsepower/heavy car needed a little help in order to assure an effective burnout.

Iff'n I remember correctly that's the Starlite IV (no chute pack) Was driven by Chuck owned by John Moxley. I only saw it once in the shop when I was home on leave.

Nope that's Doug's. He use to do testing for Chrysler and had a blown Max Wedge FED. Today Doug is active in Land Speed Racing with the BMR #66 C/Fuel Modified Roadster and the the #285 Ardun powered Coupe.

Thanks, I got out of drag racing just as the super stocks were coming in, so missed this MoPar....I briefly crewed on Doug's wedge AA/FD (before Mike Bartlett drove off the end at Pomona and Doug had to rebuilt it)...Doug also built the B/FD that Bob Keilty and I ran at the same time he was building his own fuel dragster...he was a great craftsman and I have followed his career from afar after leaving California....saw that he just lost his wife of many years last December, very sad...

Hey Gary, Looks like I re-posted a couple of your shots today. I was checking things out this morning , then went out to the shop for 10 hours. Guess I forgot where I snagged some of the pics today when I started slapping them on here.
