    Hi Ardun

These pics are of the original car taken in the mid 60's by Eric Dhalquist, who was working at Hot Rod at the time

The 90 % restoration was not near as nice as it should have been done, sad to say and it is now in a private collection in Scottsdale Az

The good thing is at least the car was saved after being lost for 25 yrs, setting in a garage in Simi Valley

The Mike Mitchell 34 Ford jogged my memory. I was at HMB on FEB. 24th 1963 with my older Brother the day Mike tested the bright red 5 window coupe. It was a high winding chevy with an Isky cam. Never heard anything like it. The coupe had some outrages 5: something rearend ratio which caused high rev shifts. Only problem is it didn't move down the track quick enough. I'm sure he worked out the bugs.
I was too pre-occupied helping my brother win his class trophy so I never got around to taking a photo. I did some digging and came up with a Drag News caption. The lettering says Rosales and Mitchell. Wasn't to long after he switched partners and cars. The Hamberis and Mitchell car was born. I love the way car and drivers morphed through out their careers. Thanks for those covers.
You always hear guys say; wow does this or that photo take me back, well I wasn't quite old enough in the early to mid 60's yet to get to the big time stuff, but the magazines were my deal then, and boy do these covers take me back.
    Keep em coming.

    P.S.
May have to start a dedicated 60's drag racing COVER thread if people are bothered by it
    diluting this thread.
    Can't imagine why, just say'n.

FAM4WILLY'S Great stuff ! I had the current owner of the Willy's contact me because he noticed that I was from Indy. He was looking for Mike Vince's contact info as he owned it after Mitchell. I was able to find some contact info for him. That car has a pedigree for sure.
