I am looking for a value cost on a convertible top for a 29-32 roadster . I plan on selling the top and the car, but I am not sure of values. 1930 couple with top cut off, all steel. Thanks for any input.
Why sell the car and the top separately??? It isn't as if the top has great value and you will get more money that way. BTW, a 32 roadster top will be worth significantly more than an A Bone top, but that really doesn't apply here
Small pic, and too far away...but I don't think the top is a model A. I am pretty sure it's not even a Ford top. It's way too long for the small Ford bodies. Looks Mopar to me. That is a "roadster" top, not a convertible, if you advertise the top by itself. Take some pics of the top folding irons. I'd sell the wheels to a Buick Grand National restorer if they are nice. $$ Those are the plated stamped steel ones, the last GN's came with ugly aluminum turbine wheels
Portland swap meet is next week. I'm sure lots of guys will tell you what it is worth. Some will talk to your face and others will comment as they walk away.
A lot of the value to me (I am not in the market) would be in how the doors and transition to the windshield were handled. Do the door tops look like you could set a can of pop there or have they been narrowed? How about a photo and one of the transition to the windshield? Charlie Stephens
Yes the car runs with a Jeep straight six and automatic transmission in it. I did not put it in, the prior owner did. I would have gone with a small block Ford. The top of the doors and back section are pretty wide like you could set a can of pop on them ( I'm not a fan of it) Pretty solid car really. I could not tell you what the top came off. It's anybodies guess. The top is not connected to the body and is just sitting on the car as you see it. The top of the window frame is currently open and you could pull the glass right out of the top, but I think that could be fixed pretty easily. I can take some other pictures of the car and top and post them Monday. I thought about taking the car to the Portland swap meet, but I did not get a spot, so I will look at CL or Ebay at some point.
"What's it worth?" seems to be code on this site for people who want to sell something on the main board.
Curious,why are you selling?Seems like a nice body.I'd drive it till I found a better more traditional drive train.
No, not wanting to sell it on the board. These kind of cars are new to me. I would rather sell it on CL or Ebay. I have a 67 Mustang Fastback 390 car that I want to put all my time and effort into restoring.
