Definitely English, Ford Classic, 1961 to 1963.

Had a Classic and a handful of the prettier Capris built on the same floorpan. they did have a good sized "boot" on them, never found anything like that in mine, though.

    The Capris ran 62 - 64.

I can remember my Grandfather doing the same thing, back when I was about the same age as these two. Now, you would be cited for illegal burning and most likely, billed for the fire department's time to put out the fire. All of those EPA regulations, now.

^^^^^^ The Pontiac pulling the Sparton is not a vintage shot. The pair is owned by a fellow HAMBER and the shot is at the Gilmore Museum. Nice shot however.

  11. Most likely, I'm usually better at spotting the "new" ones - it was in a group of old photos. He's a bit rumpled looking.

  17. Anybody notice the flared rear fenders, and the painting on the front fender on the yellow Chevy? This picture has been posted a lot. I don't remember anyone commenting on it. I wonder what the story is on the Chevy?[IMG]

An EH Holden Premier Wagon, top of the line model introduced in August 63 with a new engine line up replacing the old grey motor with a 149/179 cubic inch motors. I would drool over them at the GM Dealers Showroom on the way home from school.

This has been discussed the last time this photo appeared in the thread. It is not a vintage shot. It was taken at Train Day at Union Station in Los Angeles a couple of years ago. I have a shot of the loco and the Cadillac that is very similar that I took on a recent Train Day. They slip by once in a while :)

Paul, best holden made, we would drive from Townsville to Surfers Paradise to watch a drag meet in the 60's. 179 motor with 149 head and carbies. Four drivers, do trip over nite. over 1000 miles.
