I met Bob at the Hot Rod Reunion in NH. He is one of the nicest guys you could meet. And the car is absolutely perfect. If I remember correctly, I think the car has run a 8.90 /quarter mile. The class he was running in this week-end ran 1/8 mile. I think he ran a 5.8 ?

Looks great ! Love the wheels tire combo of the scalloped slicks and small oval Halibrand front mags.

  10. MORE PIC's & HISTORY! Was it a race car when you got it? Did you build the whole thing from scratch? Share the '56 love brother. You half way got me crapping myself with old blue paint on there, and patched up rear wheel well openings. We've been looking for our old "Panneton Christensen & Jones" '56 for a lifetime, and it was last know to exist somewhere in Saugus/high desert area. IMG950193.jpg 56 @Pond-2.jpg

Straight Gasser Porn! I've been slowly collecting parts for my 59 F100 Gasser build. I hope to actually start building in a few weeks. I scored an "old truck bed trailer" on CL awhile back, It's a near prefect 57-60 SWB box with near mint tailgate for 250.00,So it looks like my truck will end up as a SWB. I'm still struggling with engine choice. I have a nasty BBC, a 312 Yblock, the factory 292 Yblock and my buddy has a real nice 390/2 fours BBF for fairly cheap. I'll start posting pics when I actually start building, right now nothing pic worthy, just an old truck and a pile of parts and tubing laying around.

I really enjoy seeing everyone else's cars. Y'all have some really kool rides!

I agree~ I love the rear quarter cutout, the wheel and tire combination, the exhaust and tow-bar leaning up to the fence,..... a true street driven car that gets raced. Perfect!

  22. Well certainly not as common as fleas. LOL I wanted to say not rare at all and has no value but I don't know you that well.

Smooth old car, great gas class build.

  24. ...picked this up last December, was told it raced at Byron Dragway in Illinois over 40 years ago;...anyone remember it, I know it's a long shot. Sat in a pole barn for 40 years.has red oxide primer over orig. black paint, found no lettering on car...

Thats a solid looking 38. Ive had my 38 coupe since 1974. Went from Gasser to Hot Rod, to Streetrod and now back to Gasser. Never felt better thanks to a 409.

Sam I got a three hour dvd of Byron from 1964 to 68. Next time I get it out will see if it's on there. Maybe at little Hershey meet
