I really like this shot of Signal Hill in the early 30s. Its been credited to either 1932 or '33 and it's been printed countless times in these little calendars that the local realtors give away every year on our doorsteps here in Long Beach (Signal Hill is a separate city and hill in the middle of Long Beach. I was sent to a military academy that was there when I was a kid) but what's really cool is the little chopped roadster sitting next to the building on the right hand side.

Like most of you guys on this site,I can name make and year of nearly all the cars and wagons in the early (blurry) photo ,but I can only name a few (Jeep, Crown Victoria ,I think, cop car and Suburban) in the second photo.

  24. Clipper and the Songbird are probably back in TX on the Flying Crown Ranch. I believe Sky King (Kirby Grant) later married Penny (Gloria Winters) in real life.

  28. This is the Cad I want, so me and 15 of my friends can go driving - and I can tow my little canned ham trailer behind it.
