A week or so back my friend posted 2 pictures I had of Shaums Garage's 57 Chevy Wagon Junior Stocker, What I failed to add was that in 1970 they won their class at Indy with that car.I believe it was T/S.
I always enjoy 'staging lane' shots. 'Methinks' that's Ted Harbit's '51 Stude -- The "Chicken Hawk." Can anyone I.D. some other cars?
Just for those that may not know it, this is a "Canadian" Chevrolet Model 150; the U.S. Made 1955, 150's were devoid of any side trim (except for emblems) and only had rubber windshield/back glass gaskets without the stainless trim. The Canadian model's side trim was like that of U.S. 210 model station wagons. Look pretty good, don't they? I am Butch/56sedandelivery.
Good info, Butch. It would have been my (wrong) guess the car had the wrong trim. Ya learned me something!
Can't remember if I have posted this or not? Dianna rolled this car at Muncie Dragway while testing before Indy. They stripped the car of everything and left it there. The track dug a hole and buried it in the shutdown area. Be cool to dig it back up and see whats left.
Rest in Peace for a car that became a legend over the years. I know many guys who wanted a Junior Stock after seeing this one car. Jimbo
