Just found this on the vintage photo thread. Seems to be a little lower in the back to me. Gary

Sorry for the confusion... I posted this image because it more about the "reverse angle" chop than the number of windows. Gary

Nice Picture Gary.....thanks for sharing, the progress on my coupe is slow. Nick has one quarter panel finished and is working on it between customer cars so it is slow process, but his work is great. Here is another reverse chopped coupe Lakes racing. Moll-Hale Coupe Reverse Chop.jpg

Here is update on the quarter panel repair. Someone added bobbed model A rear fenders with a bunch of lead sometime in the '50's so I am returning it back to what it looked like in '40's. Nick has one quarter done and it working on the other one. \'32 Quarter.jpg

That is so wild. I had never really noticed the reversed chops before, some here in the thread being quite drastic, it looks good. I'm glad to see what you're doing with it. It's gonna' be bad***. Good luck.

This image popped up on the forum a few days ago (3rd Annual Queen City Riot) and this crazy-cool wagon has an interesting reverse chop, IMVHO, as the car has quite a bit of rake yet the top is still chopped down hill to the back. I just love it. Gary

That #36 is hot, beautiful and cl***y at the same time!
I like it a lot, and looking forward to an update!

I like the stance, and how the roof ads to the look of the car.

    Keep at it.

Very cool. Wise decision putting it back closer to a 40's era hot rod.

\'32 Coupe with hood.jpg 32 Coupe front side.jpg \'32 Coupe Front.jpg \'32 Coupe side 2.jpg Quarter Left side.jpg Here is a little update from the Hubcap Hot Rod shop in Phoenix AZ, Nick is busy trying to get the car done in bare metal for the new WORLD of WHEELS indoor ( read AIR CONDITIONED) car show here on Sunday June 14th at the convention center where the car will be in his booth to advertise his metal working skills at Hubcaps Hot Rod Shop, Phoenix AZ

So over the weekend I did the easy stuff like paint and ***emble the new front end, '34 dropped axle by Anson, '36 split bones, model A shackles, '40 front brakes, Nick got the hood sides fitted and the '32 headlight cut up for the B-L-C lights, the car has a 2 1/2 " mild channel so the stock hood needed a little t******* to fit and since we are not fans of the sharp notch required, Nick made it flow nicely over the frame rail and the fit the original '32 grill shell i got from by buddy Justin B ( Hop Up Mag). Since the car is channeled slightly the front spreader bar would look clunky so we decided the front frame horns will be shortened a few inches and thinned so they flow better.

The last picture Nick is about 70% done repairing the left side quarter, then he will mount the '34 open drive rear axle to the '36 rear bones and '40 rear spring.

I just dropped off the 16" black powder coating wheels and Firestone tires today that will be on the Deuce for the show...........Nick will be burning the midnight oil to make Saturday's move in, GO MAN GO!!!

Gary, unfortunately not at this point, we did find a picture of it ( same chop) in white primer in 1956 sitting on L.A car lot called Custom City in the recent TRJ s****book that came out last year.

Based on the all similarities we believe my car the #36 car are one in the same, the reality is they are from the same area and the chop is just too unique to have two done the same way.

The fender-ed version really did not do for me, so I thought what would the car have looked like 6-7 years later when the owner got more serious about lake racing and pulled the fenders, hopefully that is the look that is above.

Well, stopped by to see Nick today to discuss the '39 pedal fabrication 20150623_120402_resized.jpg 20150623_120242_resized.jpg 20150623_120218_resized.jpg needed to use them in a CE X member as well as design a period correct push bar for the back, anyways here are some nice shots showing the flattened '40 crossmember, '40 rear spring on '34 banjo rear, I don't know why but I just love the look of a banjo rear end under a Deuce

20150724_114651_resized.jpg Well not a lot to report, it is hot as hell in Phoenix so not much work is getting done, but I think I got the fan situation figured out, I am running a 296ci 49-53 Flathead in '32 coupe so the engine is longer than the earlier style 59A engines that I am a custom too mainly because of the water pump shaft length , so to make everything work you need a wide belt water pumps, crank pulley, fan hub and alternator set up from an F-1 does the trick. It fits tight but I can move the flathead back a few inches and then have plenty of room.

Here is the F-1 fan set up 20150724_114651_resized.jpg DSCN4788(1).jpg DSCN4788(1).jpg
