What's up with Billetproof Minnesota 2015? Is it going to happen? I know that 2013 was a great start to what could become a great show. I heard that 2014 was canceled due to a scheduling mix up at the fair grounds but the show must go on! Anybody know anything about 2015? Was really looking forward to it.

  2. It's a no-go on the 2015 show. Closest is Milan, MI.

    Does anyone know Why?

  4. Not sure why it's not happening for 2015. Maybe no venue's open? or anyone willing to step up to the plate financially?. The Dakota County Fairgrounds would be an exceptional place to have it, plenty of room, adequate bathrooms, permanent vendor structures, plenty of parking and room to have a sizable swap. The 'Mopars in the Park' show has been held there for a few years now and it's one of the best.

The problem was a venue. After being cancelled out of the Washington County Fairgrounds TWICE (they triple booked the facility last year and told us we would have to use the parking lot, and even after reserving the venue a year in advance for 2015 they bumped us... will not be going back there for obvious reasons) we set out looking for another venue. The problem is with the short season, LOTS of other events and relatively few venues... every venue that was even remotely suitable was booked. I even looked into using part of a state park (thats right next to the airport) but could get no traction (it was the old "we've never done that before so we cant do that now" kind of response). I'm still working on them for a 2016 show... The turn out in 2013 was good, the show was great, everyone had a great time... thats all I'm looking to do. If everyone has fun, everything else falls in line.... yes including being profitable. Billetproof is not a hobby or a charity, it is indeed a business and there is a financial component. That being said the first Billetproof MN was a success show wise and financially so I'd love to do it again.

if anyone has any contacts with the folks at the Fort Snelling State park, let me know. Or if you know of any "unknown" venues that could host the show... I'm all ears.

If I remember right, I attended an AMC show at the "Parade Grounds" of the state park years ago.

There's the Anoka county fairgrounds up on the north side of the Twin Cities. They have the MSRA spring picnic there in May, and the frankensteiners ball in the fall. They obviously don't mind car shows......

I want it to be at.........http://www.grovecreek.com
Brainerd is not a bad idea, but Grove City is only 90 minutes west of Minneapolis. What I find interesting about Grove Creek is that their track is 1/8 mile. WHATEVER you need me to do to make this happen - let me know.
Oh?......were we talking about a car SHOW?
Dude!....................................... There's room for a show, camping, drags, hot dogs, cold drinks, and peeing in the woods! Ever heard of the Meltdown drags? If you do it, they will come.

Hmmmm, An 1/8th mile version of Meltdown in Minnesota, that has potential.

Either BIR or Grove City are both great ideas. I would be coming from the NW corner of Minny, so either strip is a great idea to me, a hell of alot closer then Bryon.

  13. Plumbid, That's a GREAT idea years ago I raced at the dirt track that's also on the same spot, I totally forgot about that little piece of heaven. I might have a phone number yet, I'll have to dig around for it.
