I'll find out Jeremy. If they're available they're yours.

    Dick, he sure does!

Spent hours today sanding the wheels. Sanding sucks. One wheel had a few divots in it from rust, but we checked it closely after sand blasting. A little glazing putty and more sanding, and it's about ready.

Bob has now primed and blocked the car with 220 four times. He started blocking with 320 today and will have it ready for paint in a few days. I think I've said that before.

Not shown is the significant work Bob put into the driver's side bun panel. On the last prime he didn't like the way it was looking so he made a template and compared it to the passenger side. He ended up taking the bun panel and the are behind it down to steel and reworking it completely. I hadn't seen a problem, but he wasn't happy and wanted it to be right. It's perfect now.

And just because I can and because its Memorial Day I'm throwing in this pic of my home I took this afternoon. Jax the Wonder Schnoodle stands guard watching for ISIS cats.

Thanks to those who have served and paid the ultimate price. We are forever in your debt. Thank you for the lives we live, the freedom we enjoy and the safety we need.

  5. Well Eric, thats all very exciting and I can see that ever so straight body sitting on that equally cool frame. I can picture the painted body and I can say it looks veeerrry nice.
Your new house looks cool (mine is about the size of the flag!!) and Jax is doing a good job on guard duty. :D:cool::cool::D Jeremy

  6. Very cool progress Eric and I had to chuckle at the dog looking out for any Isis cats too as my little Yorkie will tackle any cat on our property whether Isis or not. I may have to send her back for basic training.

Ha! Thanks fellas, he's a smart little dog and loves everyone, which creates a problem because not everyone loves dogs. Oh well.

Bob called tonight. He's done with the final 320 blocking and he's happy with the body. It's ready for paint!

I'm going up tomorrow to help clean the paint booth and replace lights. Friday and Saturday will be good weather so as long as it's not windy we should have color and clear on the car very soon! Fingers crossed...

I was running late and Bob already had the booth cleaned out. He was hanging new 48" LED lights in place of the old fluorescent lights. Man, they're about twice as bright! It'll make painting dark colors easier for sure.

So.... I helped with a few of the lights and did a few little things to the body. I filed the taillight holes and made sure the teardrops fit, filed a few small holes for detail stuff and chamferred the edges.

Then I spent about two hours brushing and blowing all the crap out of the holes, seams, subrails, etc. Now I understand why body guys bitch about media blasted bodies! What a pain in the ass! Sand, bondo dust, garbage, bugs, everything you can imagine.

Paint should fly tomorrow and this should be the last time I post a picture of an unpainted car. Well, THIS unpainted car at least!

Thanks Tom, Victoria picked out the colors. The engine and A grille shell will be maroon and the steelies will be cream.

Thanks Dick, I'll try to resist the temptation of licking it tomorrow!

Thanks Steve! Can't believe you got your COE on the road and I've accomplished nothing on mine! Have to finish this car, get my shoebox reliable, build a shop in the backyard, then I'll get serious about mine!

Thanks man! Really stoked by the photos.

  24. I will have to agree with Jeremy as I hadn't thought of the off white fire wall but it finishes the car fantastically. Can't wait to see it all come together now, will look very smart.
