I recently picked up my first old car to play around with a 1941 Ford Coupe , it will be a traditional style hot rod. I have never worked on an old car before, plenty of turbo Rangers, Mustangs and Thunderbirds but my real love are the oldies, just never had the time or money for one....until now. The main purpose for the thread is motivation as I do not have alot of it and I will definitely have alot of questions and you guys have been real helpful. The car appears to have had a small block in it at one point from the ****py patch on the firewall, motor mounts and trans mount in the trunk along with some steering parts. The car has no interior, steering column, pedals but is pretty solid and has a parallel rear axle Parts sourced already Kwick harness, monoleaf front drop spring, speedway water pumps, econoheaders and a steering column for 20 bucks! Parts needed-everything else and wheels I have the fenders off and the body up off the frame and floor blasted now, so I will be starting patchwork
Nice start! Where at in NE Ohio? I have been slowly doing a 41 Tudor at my shop in Willoughby. I recently sold off most of my turbo 2.3 stuff and Pintos in favor for the early iron.
Navarre Ohio just south of M***illon, I have one turbo Ranger left in the garage I cant bring myself to part with but am slowly trading in the new stuff for old.
May want to hang onto your stock front spring. I installed a Durant monoleaf front spring in my '41 Fordor and the ride was awful. Didn't take long to go back to my stock spring with every other leaf removed.
