I found an affordable all steel 36 coupe that has had a ton of work done to it - It currently has a 2 1/2" chop, no side glass or rear glass, the deck lid is far from lining up, but it opens and closes fine. Many areas on the body have sloppy filler work and seams aren't so tight. Some of you might of seen this car at the Roundup over the past 3 years. Air ride suspension, no interior except the shitty tall back mustang buckets (gotta go) 302 with a T5 is put in right and drives great. Coker WWW tires and tear drop bubble skirts are ordered. So, keep an eye I will post progress shots. Here are the before pics - any advice or suggestions are welcome....
Get rid of those flames ASAP! Haha http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/index.php?threads/My '47 3W Dodge build..960954/ My build.
congrats - lots of potential. before just putting on new tires be sure to check out condition of brakes, suspension, steering box, etc
Is this the Nick that was at Tiki Oasis last year? Indeed the whole thing is getting repainted but I haven't decided what yet. Any suggestions?
Nah mate I don't even know what Tiki Oasis is! I like the car as is just not a fan of the pinstriping. I think a more tail dragger stance would be awesome also. I'm jealous man I love these coupes.
Thanks, the nice thing about skirts you can take them off, but for those certain nights skirts work especially when it sits on the ground
Right on, too much pinstriping on this one. A little is okay but I agree. It has 4 independent bags so It can drag tail, I'm just waiting for it to arrive from Texas. Was supposed to be here tonight but will be tomorrow night or Fri morn....its killing me!
The 36 is here! Drove it around all weekend and it did good until the compressor went to shit on me. Luckily it was in my garage when it bled out....new steering wheel and column have arrived from Limeworks, new Vintique rubber for the running boards, window channel set, new rubber all around, can't wait to put the new WWW tires on and soon a new compressor...any suggestions?
X38 I know right...I was posting before pictures....I runs so damn good I'm quite torn of what to do. Its a 302 FI out of a 92 mustang - making an engine cover will make it to streetrodish - maybe dress it up - lipstick on a pig. I almost didn't buy it because of the engine but it ran too good.
Thanks, it takes a little more concentration than driving my escalade with those 3 pedals! ha really fun to drive
Thanks man, I'm still in awe I found it in my price range but still have many items to correct - stay tuned
Thanks man....wait till you see the interior when I finish - red leather bench and door panels black dash and I just got a sweet 37 banjo from Limeworks....
Nice car, 36 Fiords are one of my favorite coupes. Don't worry about the engine, just keep the hood closed. Agree those flames are a little strange and do not help it look better. Lot of potential in that car.
When the engine goes then I'll change it out with something more traditional. But yeah the flames are wierd. Too much of anything is bad....give me a month and this shit will start coming together. Thanks for the vote of confidence..I had to fly out to Corpus to see it before handing over the cash. Ebay reject score for me. What are you working on?
