the rear is from a maverick or something...it's sitting on a spare frame,,,the real drivetrain has a 9 inch ford rear.........

  16. Nice. Did you end up s****ping all of the original body?

a great deal of it did in fact end up getting s****ped.......it sat outside for two years with many areas in bare metal, including a lot of unground welds....(it was covered, but, i guess it's almost like a greenhouse when you do that) i didn't think it would have to be outside for that amount of time, and i admit i didn't take the proper precautions against rust...basically, after weighing the option of blasting it (i'd be worried that i might have missed some areas in the unground welds...plus factoring in the expense of blasting)..or starting over, in the end it was cheaper/more sensible to start over....i had the advantage of knowing exactly where to make all my cuts for thew sectioning job, so i was able to get back to where i am now, fairly quickly........

i had a little time (not enough, lol) to work on the car for a bit today,,,i bought a really nice57 mercury grille at a swap meet yesterday, hoping to use it in the car, as i really liked the design...after some careful consideration, i decided against it,,it was too square-ish on the ends,,and the car is very curvy,,and the angle was not close enough....so..i cut up two 52 ford upper grille surrounds, did a little welding, and now i have my grille opening.....i can hardly wait to make the rolled pan that will tie it all together (final pic is a rough photoshop illustrating my basic idea for the pan)....
