I picked up a DuVall windshield for a good price but I cant't tell what it fits or who is the manufacture. The owner has had it for 20 years and never installed it — so it is brand new. He thought it was for 32 or 34 but since neither of us have a cowl, it is hard to tell what it fits. I used the Wescott DuVall on my previous roadster and like the design but the casting was a little rough. This one has a real smooth casting and nicely finished glass channel. I was hoping it would be marked with some identity but I don't see any marking.
Grant Engineering used to make them back then but I would like to know if anyone has one they could measure for me. I am hoping it is for a 34 Ford. Here are a couple of photos.

The casting is silicone bronze and is very nice and smooth. The width is 40 inches and the height is 12 inches.

Here is a better view of the distinct DuVall shape. The top rail comes off for the glass installation.

I cleaned the nose with some steel wool and the casting looks good.

I am building a 34 this time rather than a 33 but I still like the look of the DuVall.

Definitely looks like one of Cameron's, for sure.......I'll give him a poke to check in/confirm on this one.......FYI currently Dave York has taken over locally from Cam and continues to turn out these fine replicas......

Thanks for the photos Phil. I think it fits the Deuce and not the 33/4 model but not sure how you tell without the cowl to try it on. I guess I will have to buy a Deuce body now that I have a windshield. I would love a top like yours. I am guessing the unit is a Cam Grant version due to the quality of the casting and finish work.

Here is a photo of the Wescott version that came on the body I purchased from them. The center point is a little different from the one I have now. I made the top but would like one that Terry does.

I received a call from Cam Grant who built the original versions and he stated that all of his windshields are cast with "Grant Engineering". The Wescott does not have any markings that I know of so I am guessing that is what I have. A 33/4 has a large groove cast in the bottom near the post to fit over the lip on the cowl. I hope this helps anyone who is looking for one of these unique windshields. Thanks for all of your help.

I guess I will have to build a 32 rather than a 33/4 roadster. They good when the top fits likes this one. This is a Grant Engineering unit with a homemake top out of 3/4 tubing.

Back from the dead thread....Who has or sells a Duvall windshield frame for 33-34 roadsters? Thanks in advance.

I know this is an old thread but has anyone tried to fabricate one of these themselves? I know Yankee Dave built one out of aluminum for his '29. I was pondering building one out of sheet stock in some kind of fixture and having it plated.

I first used 1/4” plywood to get the overall shape I wanted. Then I made patterns out of pine. We added 3/8” pieces down the center to take care of the shrinkage problem. I brought the wood pieces to a foundry and had them cast in aluminum. IMG_5354.jpeg
