Dumb question........but, does Harbor Freight sponsor the Jalopy Journal? I get the advertising banner on the laptop and my iPhone. I'm not complaining, but their stuff is VERY sub-par and it just seems weird that they have an advertisement on the JJ page. Chris
I've seen the Harbor Freight ad from time to time too. Glad to see them supporting the JJ & HAMB. I'd guess there's a fair number of "hobbyist" members here who don't have the money, or the need, to buy absolutely top-of-the-line tools and equipment that may only get used a few times a year or to complete one specific job. HF can be a good source for some of these tools without breaking the bank. For the guys using their tools day in and day out in a production setting, well that's a different story.
I believe it is the hosting site that puts them up not Ryan and they have nothing to do with the Jalopy Journal or the H.A.M.B. but a necessary evil of hosting the site. I have also seen Gillette ladies razor ads from time to time and I am sure they are not supporting the site.
If you are logged on, the only place you should see any ads at all is on the homepage and on feature articles. If you are seeing this stuff on the forum (while logged on), then you have some sort of malware on your machines.
