I wasn't laughing at the time.....Had no idea who or what had hit me,so my hands came up and took a couple swings at a whole bunch of nothin'....lol!

When I slumped over against the overhead door and started to look around,I saw that big slab of steel and half expected to find a gaping hole in the top of my head.

Turned out there was no hole, not much blood, and big lump where there didn't used to be one....lol

When I first started this project it was supposed to be a driver with 5 lbs of boost and about the second time I stepped on it that went out the window and I wish they were 99 cents sad part is I ran this same brand of pistons years ago in another motor with 12 lbs of boost and beat on it way harder than I ever have this one and never had a problem just like everything else they don't make em like they used to But no worries I am in the process of goin back together now so test and tune on Friday stay tuned for the weather report cause there is a storm brewing and headed for the meltdown and it will give you all the Willys

Finally starting to do something to get ready for the Meltdown. Tow vehicle first...my 57 Suburban....I did a front brake job Monday, now I'm seeing about putting some AC in there. My wife said she go with me, so I figured I ought to make it nicer for her.

I was really looking forward to doing some passes in the 54 & 57 this year, got on the MD website last night and went to pre-register and saw it was closed....Registered both cars last year at some time later than this so definitely didnt see that one coming. What a bummer, guess I'll see what the next 7 days has to bring, hopefully some good luck, for I am on "the waiting list"

That's a Frigette Strato Cool, from the early-mid 60s. Aftermarket. Hard to find. Neighbors had one in their 64 chevy panel truck when I was young...I found this one from a local 1966 Sudebaker.

Redline racer you are almost correct I used to have a comet cyclone and a caliente the scoops were made in the fiberglass hood I think you can still get one from crites that is actually from a 63 dodge super stock I know it's a repop but that's where they originated from do you have pics of this comet I wanna see I would post one of my dart but it's not been cut on yet but I did get it running the other day

Let's play Devils advocate...if I were late to pre register, I would email the Meltdown Association and send some pics of my car(cars) to them , and tell them I missed the cutoff. That way the guys who run the show aren't put on the spot, and other guys who were late or show up not registered would not have any precedent to say "you guys let that yellow 57 and his buddy in, why can't I run" that way everything would be behind the scenes and no one is the wiser....that's how I would do it anyway.[emoji16]
