What is your time frame. In the 50's and early 60's it was Bush's Drive Inn. The building is still there (just down the hill from the Mall at 38th) but it is now used for something else. You had to get there early or you would never get a parking place. Then cruz up South Tacoma Way or 38th street. Lots of street racing.
Change the ***le of this thread and people from Tacoma may actually notice and look at it. ???? isn't going to attract much attention.
The time frame is now. I go by the old Busch's building fairly often and get my dose of recall. I lived in Seattle in the 50's and several of us used to go down to Busch's on Friday nights for the drags on the tide flats. I often wonder where some of those old timers are today.
Street racing in the '50s. dead would be my guess. Hell most of my old friends are dead and I'm a '60s kid.
LOL I once got a waitress in Snohomish caught up in a conversation about motorcycles. She was dumb as wood about the subject but she pretended to understand and that was good enough for me. You really should add Tacoma to your ***le. I never really got caught up in the street scene there even when I lived close enough to be there on occasion but if you put that in the ***le someone who lives in your area may chime in. Pretty good sized town its not like you can just go drivin' around and find everyone.
I changed the ***le for Pork. Yea, been there and done that on the waitress but one time in the 50's I was going around with a waitress that was the NW powder puff derby champion. She owned a tavern also.
Godfathers Pizza in Spanaway, across Pacific avenue from Spanaway Lake Golf course. Just past Military Road heading toward the Roy Y at about 157th. Been a good turnout the last couple of Fridays although I missed last week. That's ***uming the late-muscle-car boys haven't gotten us kicked out yet....
