Glad I'm not the only one stripping my parts with a wire wheel.

What epoxy paint did you end up going with? Those parts came out great

This build is truly an inspiration. Thanks for sharing your ideas and for showing what can be done with time, effort and talent! It makes me believe I've got a snowball's chance of getting mine on the road. Mine may not be as nice as this build, but now I can see I don't have to have a million dollar shop or a CNC milling machine to get something done!

Man, I saw this thread back on top and got all excited to see what been happening on this build, disapointed to see that it was just guys asking the same thing I was going to ask. I think this is my favourite build going on here right now. Hoping he is doing okay and will have a ton of new pics to show us soon.

  17. Yo!

Thank you everyone for the kind words. They are very very much appreciated.

Once again i apologise for taking my time with the updates, I quit my job a few months ago and have recently set up my own Signwriting business. The good news is that now i'm self employed i'm finding more time to work on the coupe.

    Front axle in epoxy primer-

After 3 coats of gloss black 2K-

    Masking out the beige detail-

    It turned out awesome-

Wishbones all painted up with the same epoxy primer and black 2K-

  18. nice job on the axle and bones.good to see an update.

  19. Ass end all painted up the same way with lots and lots of primer all flatted out to fill the slightly pitted steel, the masked out to spray the banjo beige-

All of the visible stainless hardware on the car has had this treatment, the writing turned off and sanded out, then buffed. Including all the rear end bolts and new stainless drain and fill bungs-

I turned up some bronze bushes for the front spring perches and put it together-

I tapped out some stainless M16 nylock nuts to use as lock nuts for all the tie rods and wishbones, imperial stainless bolts are almost impossible to get on this island.

  20. I can't explain how good it feels to finally be assembling this chassis!

I'm so happy with how the colour combo works, especially on the backing plates.
