Contact ChrisBlattie on here. He is in the Hamb O Dex forum. He can tell you how to make a pattern for your windshield and make you one. He is very fast with orders and does the best glass work I have ever seen. He can supply you with all you need. He did all the glass for my 1934 Plymouth coupe so he should have patterns for the rest of your windows. Your rear glass should roll down if it is still original. Remember you are building a Hot Rod. Have you measured your wheelbase? their were 2 different wheelbase in 1933.

Thanks. I had read the rear window rolled down. I don't have any of the goodies to make it roll down. Will Chris have the rubber that goes with the glass?
I have measured the wheelbase. It's the long one. It's a PD.

PD is the one you want. My 33 PD with a Mustang ll front end and a Nova rear is a super riding car.

Mine has the Mustang II front end. I was told they think it has an S-10 rearend but they weren't real sure. It rides good and drives good but the suspension is a little stiff.

Stiff ride is OK in a hot rod!

That can be remedied. Get it papered, plated and out on the open road. We can help you from there,

    For the first 30-miles.

In Arkansas I have to have the State Police come out and verify the Serial number. Then apply for a bonded title. Next Tuesday will be 4 weeks since I contacted them, the first time, and they still haven't shown up. They told me I can't drive it to them because I don't have a windshield. I cut a piece of 1/4 Lexan and made a windshield and I'm driving it to them Monday, so I can get the process started. Hopefully it won't take long to get a title and tags on it.
On the road it rides good. I have noticed the stiffness going in and out of the driveway mostly. Not knowing how these cars normally ride, it's hard to know what I should expect. It doesn't ride as good as my Ford pickup, but then I didn't expect it too. When I get more miles on it I'll let you know if I need some help softening it up a bit.

Remember: how these cars drove back in the day, and how they drive now DO NOT have to be the same thing.

We now have access to modern springs, and modern shock absorbers.

It can all be tweaked to improve ride quality. Some times it is as simple as getting good shocks, and removing a leaf, or two, from the springs (or softer coils, as the case may be).

I'm very pleased with it so far. There hasn't been any surprises.

Hi Greg, I see you discovered the HAMB, welcome!

You'll find a lot of good information here and hopefully make some local contacts. As I said in the "other" forum, I am a traditional hot rod guy and this site is for those who tend to prefer that style.

Your car has a ton of potential and you should build it to what ever style you discover that your prefer. If you chose to keep it traditional then make sure you don't run any billet crap or rubber band tires, etc. :DYou can spend countless hours here looking through thousands of posts to get all kinds of ideas on what to do.

Like I said before, I will spend hours in the garage just staring at my car and figuring out how I am going to build it as well as looking at photos and going to shows. It makes the build process longer but will result in a nicer car.

    Good luck and have fun!

    I recognize your car : )
I'm already amazed at the skills some of the people here have. I mentioned the "S" word and was told by 2 people not to use that word. I had to figure out the difference in it and a Hot Rod! So I'm getting there.
I felt like I reached a milestone with my car today. Pulled it up to a gas pump and couldn't help but wonder how long it had been since it had last sat by a pump. I had to take a picture.

It's been a while since I posted. I have my 33 on the road now. Finally got a title and license on it! That was a challenge. I still have a long way to go. I have a grill and all the glass ordered for it. I have a Lexan windshield I cut and installed myself for now. Hopefully all the leaks are fixed.
I'm having a blast driving the car. Everywhere I go people want to look it over and talk about it. I've had 2 people follow me around until I stopped so they could look at it. Turns out one of them was a friend from high school I hadn't seen in 40 years.
    Check it out! image.jpeg

  16. Those MoPars had beautiful lines straight from the factory. I see you got your rear valance..nice. On the previous page Gimpy gave you some advise on wheels and tires...he was a bit harsh but he was right. The sizes and offsets of your current wheels appear to be right on...but DAMN! You need to put those things on your favorite car-trailer!
BTW, I had to remove 3.5" from my ford's top [avatar] to get it looking more like a 33-34 MoPar. And my wheels would be perfect on your car...53-56 Chrysler wires with the rears widened..

LOL........you wouldn't believe how many people have said those wheels have to go.
And one of these days they will. But right now my money is going to other more pressing things. BTW, I do like the wire wheels, where could a guy come by some of those and what kind of money are we talking about?
I posted a picture of the car on a site on Facebook a while back. A response I got was someone asking if it was Bill Mathews old car, which it is..........it turned out the guy asking is the one that actually built the car for Bill. He has helped me out a bunch because he knows lots of things about the car that I didn't have a clue. One thing he said when I was talking to him was.......he kinda laughed and said Bill had bought those wheels somewhere real cheap and the car was actually built around those wheels.

Last time I looked Kanter's had mopar wire wheels, but they weren't cheap.

  19. Hey at least you have the car on the road, the wheels wouldn't bother me if the car runs fine and you have fun with it. (also the actually dont bother me at all- IM not the "YOU HAVE THE WRONG WHEELS POLICE")
Its easy to tell someone to change out the wheels when it cost about 400-1000 dollars to do so.
Drive it as is until the tires wear out and then you have a reason to go to the tire shop.
I reposted my Plymouth Dodge links on your thread, NC industries make a lot of repop parts, pricey but good parts.

I'm envious. Got a Model A that was all street roddy, 30k spent, MII, IRS etc, I got it for 11. But I'm 2 years out before I can get to it. Enjoy yours. I always liked those Mopars. P.S. mine has those nasty aluminum saw blade-looking wheels on it, so don't feel too bad.

I too love that year. I really think those 33's look better than the 32 fords. Those wheels aren't that bad. A little out of date but still look great.

My friend, where I found my car, is a sedan delivery lover. He has a 57 Ford he's getting ready to start.

Thanks, I just lucked into this car. I knew the second the garage door went up I was going to buy it. I had no idea what a 33 Plymouth looked like before then.

You're welcome! Even as new as this project is for me, I need to be inspired myself at times To work on it. I have a gas leak, when the tank is full, that I need to work on. It's going to be a chore. I'm psyching myself up for it now. But I have no problems finding excuses to drive it. Though I felt a little foolish driving it with no windows and 40 degrees outside.

I know you Yankees are probably thinking what a wuss, that's perfect tops down weather! LOL
