I would say that's a pretty nice starting point Beeno, looks like most of it's there. HRP

Build it up as a gasser and take it to the Meltdown next year!

  3. I am pretty happy with it. Looks bad and some of it is but its not a bad starting place.

Actually where the Buick mill is setting now it would be a comp sedan (I think the class would have been comp coupe or comp coupe/sedan?) or an altered. The first spark plug is @ 17" behind the axle centerline and the wheel base is only @ 108. So legally for a gas class car @ 10% setback the first plug can be 10.8" That said with enough motor it would be fun to run it altered or comp coupe/sedan. :D

Well back at it I still got to finish packing everything into the garage and the attic and the basement and so and so forth.

    Good starting point, nice find.

  5. Well my garage is now a blivet but I got it all in there. I am going to have to start finding new homes for the stuff that I know I won't use. But the upside is that I managed to get my bike and my sedan in an oversized one car garage. nd I can still navigate as long as I stay sober. LOL

long assed day. my bones are tired.

Buick 15" blasted the chrome off and painted them. Tig welded a ring to accept model A hub cap. I made the S/S headlight bar as well! Lower bolt go's in from underneath . ModelA_0007.jpg

  9. Geezzzz Beno, I thought I was the only one with this infection. I just drug home a near twin to yours in a 30 sedan. Like you, I also have to walk sideways to navigate the garage. Why do we keep doing this?

  10. That's extremely cool and I don't know why anyone is surprised at your age, I started building cvars in '68 and I'm less than 65. LOL

I still got hair by the way. :D And my dad's hands sticking out of my sweater.

Edit now that makes a little more sense.

There is only two anwers to that question and either one of us can fall into either category, one is that we are totally insane and the other is that we are totally cool. Choose one my friend. ;)

Oh and post us a pic of your tudor. I want to see it if no one else does. :D

Your Abone looks to be a good canvas, to make a fun piece; glad for ya! Could be a use for that hot Olds engine, you said was tucked away...?

  15. That olds could go in easy enough but @12:1+ compression and no decent fuel to be had it wouldn't get driven much I am afraid. :D

I actually have an engine and trans combo that I will probably use, I doubt it will win as many races as I would like to brag about it winning but it will be fun to drive. Fun is important to me, anything over and above that is just gravy.

    Nice!

As soon as the old F1 is back on the road I'll have to assemble a care package and head your way – pretty sure I have a few choice goodies you can put to use.

  17. Well I'll probably still be working on it. :D I am slow for sures.

hey this one has a good tank, I plan on cutting it up if you have one with a good top and dash side that leaks I'll trade you out of it if you want.

  19. Here is the Load I drug home. That color isn't Brown paint. It's a smooth coat of Rust from having all it's paint hand striped off and left to sit in bare metal under a dirt floor lean to for many years. Not a bad place to start once I get around to it.

young man, don't you have a sporty car you should be finishing?? HMMMMM??

  22. It photographs well however both doors have the bottom reviel rusted off and that gray looking spot is "Body Man in a Can" to plug up the Cowell Drainage. It's the same on other side. Gas tank has many many sheet metal screws with inner tube rubber on them. I think it 's a Hill Billy attempt at stopping the leaks. There are even some screws on the top side of the Tank. All 4 Fenders, running boards and splash aprons are past salvage. For what I plan it's just fine and like you I have to start somewhere.

  23. Well my fenders can be salvaged the aprons not to much. I did think about cutting the bottom 6" off of mine and telling everyone that I sectioned it. :D But patch panels are too cheap to do that to it.

My fuel tank is solid as a rock, seems like a shame. The plan today is to gut it. That could change I try not to be too hasty with my decisions.
