i trimmed the foam that i had glued on, then i built a "stretcher" from some scrap wood. after leaving the top material out in the sun for an hour i stretched it over the frame. i started in the middle of each side and pulled and stapled it as i went. once done i set it on the roof. on this style top the next step would have been bending the aluminum track and drilling all the holes to mount it but since i had installed this 30+ years ago that step was done.
on to the monotonous step; find the hole through the track and material, insert pop rivet, "pop", repeat............ a hole/rivet every inch........and there are a lot of inches. DSCF4240.JPG

DSCF4242.JPG DSCF4241.JPG once all the rivets were in i trimmed it "big" to get the frame out of the way, then went around with a razor blade and trimmed it "tight".

The cool thing about a well built hot rod is... You don't need a professional photographer, just a little consideration on your part and the car will do the rest.

man, some of my all time favorite ingredients, dual WCFB's on a vette intake, short bar lancers, metallic green, and blended with style and restraint. I love this car.

Damn, the amount of work involved in doing that, and most of it will not be seen. What a shame, but we will know it's there! OK, share, how long did it take?

Not the way we installed vinyl tops, but that doesn't mean it won't work. Looks good though!

the dreaded late 50's early 60's hot rod.......;)

the top? took a little around three hours, but that did not include bending the aluminum channel. i think when i did it originally it took me all weekend [1982?]

the car looks absolutely beautiful. you did an excellent job. have you put any actual miles on it yet. if not you have more restraint than I would. Tom
