Hot Rods fuel tank sender unit diff. in arm length

    bought this fuel tank sender for my 54 dodge royal .. the arm is shorter on the oem sender . is this going make it read different because of the length?. also the new sender ohm reading- 10-78ohms ............ oem one is 10-90 ohms

    The ohm difference is going to be your issue. I can't see your pics, but the length of the arm doesn't matter. All the way down is empty, and all the way up is full. The length of the arm may change how fast the needle moves, but the ohm reading of the sender needs to match the gauge.

    Yeah.. guys !
    that difference in the two ohms readings is not going to work .. that's what I was thinking.
    1953 and older must have a little different style tank and fuel gauge in dash with a different ohm's reading . Oh well .. tried.

    sent it back .. still looking for an oem one .. big $$$$$$$ !

    anyone out there have a parts list catalog for 1954 dodge ? If so............could you please look up the oem part number for the fuel tank sending unit ?
