PBRMEASAP: Thanks man, she's always been a real fun dependable car. No biggie, but my nickname is Bowie not bowtie, like in Jim Bowie; never have been much for neckwear!

Hi JP. Nice to see that someone plans on putting it back together.

Utahvette...that is a great shot. All three Corvettes look great and love the "Gas Station".

pbrmeasap: I'm running BFG 7.75x 15's on 15"x6" wheels. Stock for'64 was 6.70, but a deal came up on these so I grabbed them. What's your '63?,cpe? roadster? HiPo? Would love to see her.

What a beauty! And low mile ,too. Never have been able to bring myself to do sidepipes, but they sure sound great with them.

  10. Thanks,
not original to 63's but my dad liked them so he put them on way back in the day. Dad couldn't find leaded premium fuel so it got parked and hasn't been touched since. Motor will come out this winter and get freshened up, lower compression. Gotta go through the brakes (add dual master) clean the fuel system out, and hopefully she'll get driven for the first time in 33 years

  11. Hey, I'm Bowtie... Coupe that is!:D I'm not much for neckwear, either, but I sure am for those Chevy cars, both steel and plastic. I'd say you both have a couple of real nice Vettes. I know they say that Vettes are supposed to be red, but I've never been a real red car person, although a couple of my Vettes have been red. PBR, your '63 looks great in red, but I've seen them in silver and thot they looked awesome in that color. I'm not sure just how popular that color was in '63, but I don't think it was too popular. I always thot the sidepipes on the C2 Vettes were good looking, functional, and really gave them the right sound. My '66 327/350hp coupe ran well and sounded like it, too. I wudn't consider it a hot rod in the same sense as my C1's were, but it got around.

Thanks Bowtie Coupe. My '64 has the square pipe N11 off road exhaust, thats the main reason I havn't gone with the '65 up sidepipes. I do have an OT '68 12.5 compression BB roadster with Hooker boomers; that makes enough noise for the both of them! I also run a pair of cutoff mid year chamber pipes under my '32. Thats a good lookn' Nassau '66 coupe, you have there!

  13. Thanks guys...
I've been sitting and 'playin' in my vette since i was a little kid, still have a few memories of riding in the back as a youngin. When i turned 40 last year this is what my dad handed me....
2 year prior he did the same for my brother, he got the white 63 convert.

Now if i can just sell my 28 so i have room in the garage the vette comes home.
Cool thing is when it comes home it will sit in the garage next to my dad's first car he purchsed in '58! 32 Chevy 5 window coupe, took 18 years of begging to sell it to me!

I dig all those cars but I especially dig the "Hot Rods to Hell" replica.

I can't get enough of this thread! I'm collecting parts to build an early Corvette drag car. Drove to Springfield, MO Friday and picked up a 6-71 GMC blower to convert to gas. Thanks for the pictures guys. Keep them coming.

I don't Pat. Went by the car a couple times, but no one was around. And I never did see the car run, so I don't know what kind of numbers it was running. Sorry.

Hi Pat. I can now tell you it is driven by a young lady and it runs in the 10's ( and it is much faster than my 55 Chevy is). 20150927_101623.jpg

Fortunate to have 2 very good friends that both own '58's. Excuse the scoop on the red one...only pic I have of it. Guy with the white car is a member.
