Love Dunham's 58 & his 59. When his '58 was for sale I thought that is was cheap. But at that time I couldn't afford cheap $$. If I would have bought it, it would have been like the rest of my fleet. It would be a keeper.

Her is pictures of the Ronnie Dunham built 59 when Gary owned it....

 

Kool shoebox! I've not seen that one before. Love Danny's 56 Chevy. I can't help to notice Lee Pratt's 41 Buick in the back ground....

 

LOL....shows you memory isn't what you think it is. I guess I should have looked at my pics before I described the engine....I just had in my mind all this beautiful chrome, fins and multiple carbs under the hood and how I loved it all. What a shame it was "updated."

 

Just for the record, this photo of the Buick is after the Terry Cook redo.

Sonny's Dodge is one of my all time favorites. I remember when it was in Cl***ic and Custom back in the early 80's and the article said it took him like 15 or 20 years to build it with life, kids, etc. As a young, dumb, never built nuthin' 14 year old I'm thinking man, that's crazy, I would never let a car like that sit and take so long to get it done. I finally met Sonny at the CCR last year and personally apologized for my thoughts...especially since it's been 30 years and I still haven't finished my first one.

Man red seemed to have been the colour of choice back then.

 

One of the very few instances where 59 Caddy taillights look like they actually belong.....

 

So what's happened to all these customs from the 80's/90's. are they in sitting in grampa's garage destined to be "barn finds" in a few year's when gramps p***es on?
