No cash in the cigar boxes, just some old boxes from the 60's,as I recall there was about 15,,I would much rather have the sign and he collects cigar boxes,we both were happy. HRP

Don't have a great picture of it right now, but you can see my Champion Spark Plug sign in this picture. The bottom piece says "Mechanic on Duty". It was a gift from a friend when he re-did all the decor in his garage. Excuse the chaos in the garage. This was taken while we were packing up to move. I am in mid-move right now, so everything you see is still packed up. image.jpg

I don't have anything gas or oil, but I have one for tires. this one is about 7 feet wide. I wonder if Goodyear would still honor that lifetime guarantee? :) IMG_3596.JPG

They were remodeling the old Greyhound bus station back in the early seventy's and I noticed this old embossed sign in the dumpster and I ask the foreman if I could have it,he said sure so it's been hanging on the wall of my old shop ever since. HRP

This sign was covering a hole in the floor in a bathroom in the old 3 story building called the Leverette rooming house in downtown Anderson,I was told it was a place that rented the rooms by the hour.

Anyway they had a fire in the early 60's and the top two floors were closed of and we rented the ground floor for a paint store,,I was exploring the upstairs and found and removed this sign when I was a teenager.

    It's porcelain.

Love it! You guys have some great stuff, nothing like early American graphics. It makes our hot rods look right at home. Thanks everyone for sharing. HRP, is that tire sign porcelain or printed?

photo-7.JPG Hey Barqsnut, great collection, do you have this sign?

HRP, I've been collecting gas stuff over 20 years and I have never seen that bottle, wow. Is the lid a screw on or press fit?

I have my shop full of signs along with other gas & oil things, but don't know how to post photos. If you go to my build page "My 3 window find" you will see some photos though. The coolest thing I have I think is my "Almight work station" made by SW

I've never seen another balloon tire sign.

I haven't seen another Texaco oil bottle myself.

The Texaco lid obviously had a strip that peeled between the top and the band, the top press on.

I have a few others,a Linco Marthon, a Caltex which I am told was a Australian brand and several shell bottles.

The shell bottles don't photograph well but look nice, they had tops similar to a beer can, just pulled the banded tab and opened.

    The Linco Marthon...

    And the Caltex..HRP
