Thanks for such a quick response Dan.
Since I don't (and won't for some time) have a car to actually parcipitate in, I'll be spectating. The hillclimb is what I'm really interested in and my car would not qualify due to the drivetrain anyway.
I'll have my people get with their people, look'n forward to 2016.

I don't know how it's done, but they have an appearance
as if they are back lit somehow.

Dan, You just blew my socks off as I was looking at the great photos you have posted since my last visit. I get to post#72 and it is my roadster, looking better than it ever looks. I can't thank you enough for taking the time & effort to make it look this good.

I'm glad Dennis - you're welcome. You parked it in a great place which definitely helps.

Dan, you know I don't have to tell you what I think of your work, but I think the way you framed this great pic with the deckle edge really makes it look like it was a pic taken back in the day, especially given the subject matter and the surroundings. Outstanding! Pretty cool, too!

Thanks a lot Wayne (Bowtie Coupe) and Larry (winduptoy). Larry, I will be in touch once I know I am going down there. I have wanted to go the museum there for quite a while. And of course, I'll be at your show Wayne in exactly 2 months.

Dan, great photos !!! Did you happen to take any shots of the black 32 coupe with # 64c?

Thanks for the good words!! We're trying.
I doubly like the pic in post #112. I can't tell from that angle if the red Chevy 2dr sedan is a '34 or '35 standard, but I'm working on a '35 standard 2dr sedan. I'm hopeful it will turn out as nice as that one, just not in red.:)

Thanks olscrounger and T&A Flathead (I'll check my pics for 64C). Wayne - I don't know if it is a 34 or 35 each -I can never tell the difference, but it was nice and I do have another couple of them coming up.

    Oh, good, more pix! Thanks!!

I'm just talking about sedans now. The '35 Chevy Standard, looking from directly behind, has a one-piece body from the top to the bottom. The '34 Chevy Standard, again looking from directly behind, is two-piece as it has a separate gas tank apron. Both years are on a 107" wheelbase. The '34 Chevy Master looks similar as it also has a separate gas tank apron, but the car itself is slightly bigger being on a 112" wheelbase. If not customized, it will also have a piece of stainless trim on each of the hood louvers and big, stainless headlights. A lot of people try to tell them apart by the dash as a '34 Chevy Master's dash has the gauges in front of the driver and a glove box in front of the passenger. The dash in both of the Standards has the gauges in the center of the dash with no glove box. It gets tricky trying to ID them via the dash alone as the Master dash will interchange with the Standard dash. So, as hot rodders are known to do, it often gets swapped out.

OK, let's talk coupes now, which gets even trickier. The '34 Chevy Standard and '35 Chevy Standard are basically the same 3W body and both have the separate gas tank apron. Both are on a 107" wheelbase. The primary difference is that the '35 Standard has a heavier duty frame than the '34 Standard. Good luck telling those apart sitting side by side. The '34 Chevy Master comes in a 5W and a 3W version, with the 5W being more prevalent. Both have the separate gas tank apron. Again, if not customized, they will be a bit more upscale with the stainless hood trim and headlights. Both 5W and 3W Masters are on a 112" wheelbase.

The '35 Chevy Master, both sedan and coupe, is a completely different body style. It's the fat fender, rounded body style like most late '30s cars.

That's probably a lot more info than you wanted to hear, but the '30s car manufacturers didn't care about the hot rodders of the future identifying their models easily.

Thanks Wayne for that - I will save that as a note and try to apply it when I get the chance. Often they're customized and then those features are no longer there. I am nowhere close to being out of pictures. I still have tons to go through and am way behind for other shows that I have threads on.. I am hoping by the time I go MD that I will be kind of caught up with all the open ones.

Dan, you're welcome. I know it's not easy making an ID for many reasons and often the car owner doesn't know exactly what he has. I don't know how you keep track of all those pix. But, I and many, many others are glad you do what you do. I'll quit sending you tomes to read and let you get back to work on those tremendous pix.
