The car has a vibration at 40-55 mph. Looks like it has too much pinion down angle. We put a few little nuts between the front of the perch and the spring to shim it up. So far it looks like it's working but we didn't get on the highway yet. Also dumping gear oil out of the new fill plug. I brazed the nut for the plug to the housing. I guess I missed a spot. Jb kwik to the rescue.

Just don't forget to take them out when you get to the track, or you'll be chasing your tail on chassis set-up. What were you at, 5 down?

Boy howdy I just wish I was in a hot rod tagging along. Once you figure out how much you need to change the pinion angle to have it work you can pick up some caster wedges to take care of that and replace the nuts. Give em something to talk about when you pull into a 4x4 shop looking for them too.

Very cool Jim! If you need anything while heading through the OKC area, give me a holler.

You won't have to worry about the tow vehicle breaking down. No need to check your trailer tires or how many ratchet straps ya have. You got a good pit man and 2/75 AC.
Them hybrids will be rolling over in the ditch and pissing on themselves when they see ya coming.
    Sounds like a good time.

Good luck and kick some ASS.

20150910_213638.jpg Thanks everyone! been going ok so far. The nut trick seems to have fixed the vibration for now, but we'll play with it in Tulsa tomorrow, Mike and Ron have some stuff I can use. the leak may or may not be fixed...

The car is running and driving fine, staying cool in the small town traffic and mountain areas we've been driving through. Might be different when we hit some big cities during the day. Tulsa will probably be the first test. Planning to bypass OKC this time, we'll see how that works out.

Headlight burned out tonight...it is one of the old ones, pre 74 that just has the number 2 at the top, instead of 2D1. Darn. Now I only have three of them left.

Don't let the OK troopers see that open container or you'll be hearing
"Son, I'm gonna have to write you up".

The only way this could EVER be stupid was if you forgot to take pictures or run out of gas before a race!

    I'm so subscribed!
