Great trick there using clothes pins for clamping parts. I never thought of that but I will use it in the future. Anyone else have modeling tricks they want to share?

 

Tonight's progress: Just have the driver's side rear corner left to do. The flat portions on the doors will be where the window cranks and door handles go. I'll probably put an armrest a little lower too. Not sure the 55 BelAir seat will work- may have to do some surgery on it to narrow it some, as the half round takes up some space effectively narrowing the inside width of the interior.

 

Big improvement over the under-engineered kit interior. Keep up the great work.

 

A 32 roadster which was what my everyday 'A' roadster was copied of and single spinner in the making.

This is a Best Resin conversion kit for a '30/31 Ford Pickup. Model is based on a '29 Ford Pickup . Hubcaps, Headlights and Beauty Rings are from Parks by Park, while the Strombergs are from Model Car Garage topped with angel cuts from RMoM. The exhaust is made out of aluminium tube and solder wire. The surf board and the cooler is from Azkua

 

I havent built in years. I did this Crosley probably 10,12 years ago.

 

Got the notch... notched. I'll have to raise a little section of the trunk floor to make clearance for it.



I also started on the seat last night. A buddy of mine said "Don't cut panels out," but I didn't see any better way to get the pleats to have the right height unless I sanded the hell out of them after attaching them directly to the seat. I attached the half-round to the panel that was removed so that I could keep the proper contour. I could've gotten more done if I hadn't been tired and watching a movie... I haven't glued that section in because I want to make sure I can make both sides sit the same. I probably won't glue them in until the seat bottom is done as well. BTW, this is the 55 BelAir seat I wasn't sure I'd be able to use. Just had to sand a bunch off the bottom corners in the front to narrow it up some.

Well, it's not Sunday, and it's not 100% HAMB friendly, but it is a 59 Caddy, so that's something.

Its a terrible resin body a fellow Black Hills scale modelers member gave me. I dont remember if it was a Jimmy Flintstones or what it was. The roof was so thick that I took a belt sander to it. The only thing I could think to do with it was to use it to represent a fiberglass race car body.

....well maybe I'll add some side windows...dunno.

Just a little snippet of a project I've been tinkering on for a few years now: Monogram '30 Ford, Revell deuce frame with '37 X-member and taillights. It's getting a Firedome hemi with scratchbuilt 4-pot U-fab style intake and frogmouth scoops. Clear is currently drying on the frame (which is now black)...and I'm trying to build a carb linkage for it.

Great looking build so-far, the detail on the frame is outstanding. I`m thinking it looks nice with the black on it.

Tn.Trash--yep, keeping the bare metal body. The frame looks OK in black...got some orange peel though. Hate polishing orangepeel out of complicated pieces like frames

Kit--the more I look at your carson-top build, the more impressed I am. What a ton of work, and it all flows together beautifully.

 

I haven't built a car model in a hell of a long time, but I recently found a box of photos from 20 yrs ago, and these were in there. I used thin wire for the piping with half-round styrene for the t&r...

My '59 Sunliner is slowly moving toward the finish line. Still needs to be polished out.
Thinking that the owner of this mild custom Ford had a limited budget for paint so after the handles and emblems were shaved he had the factory paint spotted in and, inspired by California cars, had his painter do some simple outlines and scallops in silver.

 

Nice looking Sunliner Froghawk. Scallops look great, just enough to compliment but not over-power the body lines. Those late 50`s- early 60`s Fords look great with a mild custom treatment. (IMHO)

Gary, I don`t know if those wheels are from there but Replicas and miniatures of maryland make a set of wheels like that. They have an aluminum rim with phot-etched spokes.
