Customs what did i buy?

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by tb33anda3rd, Sep 24, 2015.

  1. bought the remaining inventory and supplies from one of the oldest resto shops in the country. the owner is retiring and sold me the rest of the stuff. he had these fenders in his attic for years and did not know what they came from. any ideas? i think a really cool car could be built with these. pictures to follow

  2. check the cool reflectors out.

cool. are those stamped that way or customized?

  4. the inner piece of the fender and the outer are two pieces welded along the fin. does not appear to have bondo and the insides are smooth as the out side. maybe and old autorama show car?

  5. That is some cool stuff! Not sure what it came from but very interesting. I noticed the reflectors are RED. Would match with some red rims :D

  11. i agree some red rims would look good. notice the fender is not green;)

good point, but they should really be on a custom.

i think on the right car they would be classy looking.

  12. no that is my daily beater and that was it's second load of stuff, one more tomorrow.

the stainless[?] rolls royce spare tire covers? they would make excellent front fenders.

are you sure and can i quote you on that?

I totally agree, match you and raise with a wish for build threat because that is freaking awesome.

A stovebolt with a 301, only thing that neats is red rims ;)
And now you say you got a Jimmy SWB dump truck with a 292 six in it. OMG

Sorry blood just rushed so quick away from my head, do south, that I forgot to say that the only way to top that would be of it had a 302 Jimmy straight six.
Does it have a two speed rear? Hopped up? Sm420 or sm465?

I it runs hot 302 with 465 and a 2 speed, I'm gonna mess up my pants.

has to be from a car like a Cord or Auburn where there were no running boards. just spent 10 minutes looking at Cords and Auburn cars and found nothing.

  24. i was hoping you were going to see this thread. so......being from that side of the pond, do the fenders look like something from over there?
i built that truck back in '91, at that time i won a trophy with it at the carlisle truck nationals, in the "fun" field. that was over 100k miles ago, 3rd set of rear brakes, 4 sets of front pads and i am on my second set of front rotors [i started with used ones], rear is just a posi and the tranny is a 350 turbo. i have left the scales at gravel bank with 2800 lbs on the back and have bottomed the springs moving top soil around the yard. it moved almost my whole house hold when we moved, at least 1 load a day for almost 2 months while we got the house livable. i have pictures of it along the docks up in maine and loaded with hay at my buddies farm in vt. it's hauled stuff to hershey and has had many hot rod bodies on the back of it . it was used in a photo shoot a few years back for the Ethan Allen catalog. i like to tell people that i am going to buy a new truck as soon as this one wears out.:D:cool:

  25. the full, one man top you see are from a large phaeton from the twenties[?] there are a couple other sets and one, later one, he thought he took off a Ferrari.

i was looking at the fenders, and think they could be put onto any mid-late thirties era car with some minor tweaking.

i gooogled all kinds of cars and have not found anything like those.
there was a buck for spinning duesenburg head light reflectors in the pile of stuff.
